How to Measure COMMUNITY BENEFIT- (Lot Sales in Teton Valley)

Harley Wilcox: Real Estate Agent in Victor, ID

Not a room, how to measure community benefit -vs. - cost OF development? Are there too many lots in Teton Valley Idaho? Is there 300 years of inventory?

How do we measure an advocacy group’s negative impact -vs.- its positive contributions?

If a group that claims to advocate responsible development does not support the developers that plan well are they just advocating against development?

We have an advocacy group here in Teton Valley Idaho that will measure every negative impact of development. I have to agree that a developer should pay for negative impacts. How these are measured is where people sometimes do not see eye to eye.

How do we measure the positive impacts? What about the jobs created?

Growth in a community? Some that want to limit the growth moved here not long ago. What if the growth was limited prior to their arrival?

It is not the "What" in this equation that concerns me as I think these people really want to make a difference for the better. It is the "How" that has me worried. I am trying to think of a way I can help this group be more positive and less negative.

REGULATION IS NOT PLANNING!

The advocacy group was posting a series of videos that I found to be harmful to our economy and held our valley in a negative light. I contacted them and asked that they pull down these videos as they painted the worst possible picture of our community with their scare tactics, I did not get very far. Here is a video of theirs. This make you want to live here in our beautiful valley? WARNING this video does not tell the whole truth!

UPDATE! The group has pulled down the video! I have removed the link. Thank you to anyone involved in the removal of these harmful videos!
