DVW strives to educate consumers to promote dryer vent fire safety awareness with campaign, "Don't Let Your Dryer Start a Fire, Keep Your Home Safe and Sound
Boise, ID -- October marks Fire Prevention month across the country. Dryer Vent Wizard, Dry Clothes, Safe Homes is joining the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), in fire prevention awareness efforts by launching "Don't Let Your Dryer Start a Fire, Keep Your Home Safe and Sound," campaign.
"We find most consumers think it's normal for their dryer to take more than one cycle to dry a load of clothing and don't realize this is a warning sign and fire hazard," says Mike Alder, DVW franchise owner who is part of a nationwide chain of dryer vent cleaning, repair, replacement and alteration specialists in the U.S.
During this month, consumers are encouraged to visit the http://www.dryerventwizard.com to become informed of the dangers that lurk in the laundry room and receive a free tips and a downloadable brochure on dryer fire prevention.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration, there are over 15,000 dryer fires per year. Most of these tragic fires, causing property damage, injuries and death, could have been easily prevented with proper dryer vent cleaning and maintenance.
In a recent interview, Mike Alder said, "I always take the time to educate my customers, showing them exactly how their dryer vent system works and how to properly maintain it between my annual visits. Many have called the office, emailed or written to thank our technicians for taking the time to make them aware of the dangers that could be lurking in their laundry home."
Mike concluded his interview saying how rewarding he finds his recent career change to be. "I am happy to be servicing my community with an important and vital service," said Mike. "I urge consumers to contact me to have their dryer vent system inspected to be sure it meets current local codes and UL safety standards."
