Body by ScottyBody By Scotty in Post Falls Idaho, an auto body shop, is a great example of small business doing great after many years of working very hard. They truly started in their backyard in 1990, moving to their current location in Post Falls in 1995 where in the next few years they added more shop space and new office space. They currently have 17 employees and have been faithful members of the Post Falls Chamber for many years. I have personally experienced the fine work they do.

Sharon and Scotty have always been active community members and each summer, on the last Friday in July, they host a huge block party to say “thank you". Their philosophy is to provide a fun, safe, and friendly experience for everyone. They truly believe that by giving back to the community in this way, they can show their appreciation to all those who have helped make them successful.

SyscoWhat an interesting day we had yesterday as the Ambassadors from the Post Falls Chamber made visits to three businesses here in Post Falls, Idaho. The three businesses that we visited were Sysco Foods, Walmart, West Point Parkway, and Cabela’s. These three companies give an amazing amount of food and dollars to the Post Falls Food Bank and fulfill many other needs in our community.

WalmartSysco Foods is a supplier of all types of foods to restaurants, hospitals, educational facilities, but they do not sell to individuals. The leaderships at these companies all stress the importance of sharing with the communitywhere they are located.

We are fortunate to have such good neighbors here in Post Falls as they not only share but provide Cabela's in Post Fallsemployment for many of our residents.

Barb Chamber Volunteer of the Year Post Falls Idaho

I have had the opportunity the past several years to work with an amazing lady, by the name of, Barb Chambers. She just recently was awarded Volunteer of Year, from the Post Falls Chamber. Barb gives countless hours to our community, working for the Post Falls Food Bank, the Post Falls Chamber, working to help kids involved in domestic abuse, and somehow she stills manages to find time to help her husband with his business, Ground Force Manufacturing.

Barb heads up the Ambassadors, which in my opinion is a fun group for the chamber. We get to meet all of the new members and go to the actual businesses. We meet once a month to visit the businesses and introduce ourselves. It is a great way to get to know folks in our community. Barb does an awesome job as our leader, so it's not a surprise that this fabulous lady is Volunteer of the Year! Way to go Barb!!

Creative fun in the snow in Post Falls Idaho

Snow house entranceWell, we did have a fair amount of snow the past few days here in Post Falls, Idaho, but fortunately not nearly as much as was forecasted. We did end up with about 12 inches of snow. The kids really had a blast playing and making their own creations. I am so glad the kids, when left to their own devices, were able to come up with a creative project that took a whole day to do! They had so much fun playing in the snow.

Snow tunnelThe grandkids decided to take the snow that was shoveled off their driveway and make a snow house. They had a front door and a back door and a living room inside. All of the grandkids could fit inside at the same time. Here are some pictures of the kids and their handy work. Then as the temperature warmed up, they had just as much fun knocking the house apart.Inside the Snow house
