Addison is located within DuPage County. Addison is a village that is alive and flourishing. When looking for a place in which to live and work, Addison has many amenities.

The Village is located just 21 miles from downtown Chicago. Addison is very close to Interstates 290 and 355, making it easy to access other surrounding areas. Routes 14, 20 and 53 all run thru Addison and are another means of travel. Metra stations are located nearby in towns of Itasca, Lombard, Wood Dale and Villa Park. O’Hare International Airport is located 11 miles from the village while Midway is only 22 miles away. DuPage Airport in West Chicago is only 15 miles away.

Addison is home to the fourth-largest industrial community in the State of Illinois. Offering a wide range of business entities from home-based, to large corporate home offices and distribution centers. Thus allowing Addison to offer many employment opportunities and resources. There are at least 45 companies in Addison which employ more than 100 employees each. While an additional 300 companies have 20 or more employees. United Parcel Service and Fore Supply Company are among the largest employers. The Pampered Chef is headquartered in Addison, and Nabisco has a major operating facility.

Addison also has an excellent school district. Both high schools were just recently modernized to keep up with the changing times. Addison has a campus of DeVry University and the Technology Center of DuPage to offer opportunities of higher education.

Addison is recognized as one of the county’s most affordable communities for residential living. Since Addison has a thriving commercial and industrial tax base, property taxes remain lower than most other communities in DuPage County.

Free Concerts in the Park are presented each Tuesday evening, June 15 through Aug. 3, by the Village of Addison's Special Events Commission and Cultural Arts Development Commission.

Concerts take place on Village Green, east of Village Hall, 1 Friendship Plaza at 7 p.m.  In the event of rain, concerts will take place inside the Village Hall rotunda.

Food, soft drinks, beer and wine will be available for purchase, subject to availability of vendors.

Pasando por Mayo 2010 , la venta de casas en Addison esta bajando asi como los precios , Addison siempre fue una ciudad la cual debido a la cercania con Chicago siempre fue una opcion clara para muchos compradores de casas debido a sus distritos escolares , pero hoy en dia la cosas ha cambiado bastante y podemos observar como los precios y venta de casas en Addison estan bajando a pasos agigantados .

En este momento en Mayo del 2010 podemos oberservar un alto numero de Casas reposeidas en Addison lo cual hace de Addison una ciudad un poco inestable debido a cambio de numero en valores inmobiliarios.

Otro de los factores inmobiliarios negativos para la ciudad de Addison en el incremento de morosos o impagados de la hipoteca lo cual se convierten el 90% de los casas en Ventas cortas , estas venta cortas en Addison estan influyendo claramente en caida de precios fuertemente en la ciudad ,por el simple hecho de que estas ventas cortas short sale en Addison estan vendiendo mucho mas bajos casi que las casas reposeidas , y varios de los propietarios en la ciudad de Addison estan intentado evitar el foreclosure o modificar su prestamo

Con esta expectativa la venta de casas en General y en la ciudad de Addison no espera ninguna mejoria en el futuro cercano , y esto pudiera durar o alargarse hasta el 2012 por lo menos
