Terra Vita is a small subdivision of homes located directly off Barrington Road, just South of the access to Willow Creek Community Church on the west side of the road. South of Terra Vita is an agricultural field that has already been zoned for construction of single family homes on 1+ acre lots. ( Confirmed with a resident of Terra Vita).

There are 17 home sites on Terra Vita Drive and Terra Vita Court, not all of which have homes on. Construction started in 2004. Homes are all custom.

There are 2 subdivisions with very similar names and in fact are close together. The Meadows is N Meadow Ct which is accessed from Mundhank Rd and runs south. Meadow Lakes is S Meadow Ct which runs east off Mundhank Rd. N Meadow Ct has 10 homes. S Meadow Ct has 15 homes. Both Courts are cul de sacs. Properties were built in the late 80's to 90's and are typically 4 or 5 bedroom homes on 1+ acre lots.

This is an older subdivision and has homes at the lower end of the price range for South Barrington. When built they were the luxury homes of the time. Built in the late 70's, 80's and 90's; but also with newer homes and pockets of custom new homes being built on previously un-built lots. It's name is born of the lakes in the neighborhood, one of which is photographed above on a sunny fall day in late October 2008. It is located between Bartlett Rd and Witt Rd with Mundhank Rd to the south and Penny Rd to the north.

Homes here can be found below $1 million for an entry level home in South Barrington.

There currently no vacant lots available for sale.

There are 4 homes for sale ranging from $799,900 to $2,799,900. Homes are 4 to 5 bedrooms, all have 1+ acre lots, the difference is the high priced home is new construction and much bigger than the other 3 with almost twice the square footage.

24 Lexington Rd. 4 bedroom, 3/1 bathrooms, 3 car garage, 1 acre lot, built in 1979. Sold $625,000 March 2008.

Properties in this subdivision were built in the 90's and are typically 4 or 5 bedrooms, 4000+ square feet on 1+ acre lots.

Last Sale Data:

There have been no homes for sale in this subdivision since 2006 when there was one sale at $965,000 for a 4800 square foot, 5 bedroom home.
At the same time there was one lot available but that did not sell at the time.
