If you want to cut your own Christmas tree in Batavia, Geneva or St. Charles IL this year, then you should visit one of our local tree farms. It's fun to tramp through the snow, pick the perfect tree, cut it down and then bring home a perfectly fresh and fragrant tree. Here are some great places to cut your own tree.

Abbey Farms at Marmion Academy is a monk-run tree farm that dates back to 1957. The tree farm is located on 300 acres of land at the corner of Butterfield and Hart Roads in Aurora. Cut your own trees are only $40 and includes a hot cup of cocoa on weekends. There is also a gift store with lovingly made gift baskets of seasonal treats. Bring your own saw or borrow one for a $10 deposit. Open every day 9am to 7pm. See the Abbey website or call (630)897-7215.

Kuiper's Family Farm is just a few miles west of Batavia on at 1N318 Watson Road, right off of Keslinger Road, in Maple Park. After riding a farm wagon out to the tree fields, you can select and cut a fir or pine tree. The staff will help you bring it to your car, wrap it in a netting and secure it to your car. Then enjoy a fresh apple cider donut and hot chocolate at the Orchard Shop and Bakery. Pre-cut trees also available. Open on weekends, weather permitting. Spring Bluff Nursery in Sugar Grove is just a few miles west of Batavia at 41W130 Norris Road, After riding on a tractor hayride out to the fields, you can cut your own Scotch, White or Austrian pine tree. The helpful staff will provide a saw and help you wrap the tree and load it onto yoru vehicle. There is a holiday gift shop with beautiful seasonal gifts.
