NASCAR Simulator at the Marigold Festival
Appearing Saturday, September 6th from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Sunday the 7th from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm...the Reed Sorenson Target Dodge 'Car of Tomorrow' simulator.
The car will be available for festival visitors to experience what driving on a NASCAR track is all about. When strapped into the seat you will think that you are heading to the checkered flag.
There is no charge to ride the simulator but you must be 16 with a valid drivers license.

Women's Marigold Golf Outing
The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting entries for the 2nd Annual Pekin Marigold Festival Women's Golf Outing. It will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at Parkview Golf Course. The event will be played as a two-woman scramble, with a choice of playing either 9 or 18 holes. Entry fee is $80 per team ($70 for 9-hole outing) and includes greens fee, cart rental, continental breakfast, goody bag and tournament prizes. The first tee time is at 8:00am. Applications are available at the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce at 402 Court Street.
Entry deadline is August 15th.

The Marigold Festival Queen Pageant will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 7:00 pm. The pageant will be in the FM Peterson Theatre at Pekin Community High School. The six outstanding contestants are: Rebecca Anderson, Brittany Bozarth, Brittney Heath, Sarah Krause, Jamie Morgan and Devyn Whitmore. Please plan to attend and encourage all of the contestants.

Welcome to the Morton Pumpkin Festival Mark you calendars now for the the 2008 Pumpkin Festival on Sept. 10 - 13.
Morton is located between Peoria and Blooomington at the intersection of interstates 74 and 155. Morton is midway between St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis and Des Moines - 10 minutes from Peoria, 30 minutes from Bloomington-Normal, 50 minutes from Springfield and three hours from Chicago and St. Louis. To get to festival grounds, take I-74 Exit 102 and go south to stoplight at Jackson St. Turn left and go to 4-way stop at Main St. Turn right and go to stoplight at Jefferson St. Festival grounds are to your left along Jefferson St.
