49 er Drive in Movie Theatre in Valparaiso, IN 46383 We've passed it showing homes in Valpo hundreds of times over the last decade.

Recently,our nephew came to visit (and we had unseasonably cool drizzly weather)...so we decided to go to the

49 er Drive-in Theatre located @ 675 North Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso, IN 46383

This night brought back some of fond childhood memories of our family spending time together at a venue like this....i.e.- getting there early to get a front row parking spot, visiting the concession stand for popcorn & snacks, bringing a blanket or lawn chair to lounge on, throwing around the football in the grassy field while we waited for dusk, etc...

What's even better - they have their own FM radio station 88.5 and you don't have to put those old speakers in your car anymore

LOL !

This is still a great way to enjoy a summer nite in NW Indiana!

Treasury Makes Refinancing More Attractive

The Treasury Department on Wednesday expanded its foreclosure prevention plan, lifting the current 105 percent loan-to-value cap to refinance up to 125 percent of a home's value.

Applications to refinance mortgages have fallen as rates have increased in the last couple of weeks, but this move may bring more borrowers to the table.

At the same time, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have agreed to reduce the processing fee for borrowers who select a 25-year mortgage.

Fannie said in a statement, "The reduction is intended to lure borrowers to select shorter terms and build positive equity in their homes sooner than with a typical 30-year mortgage."

Cheap Ways to Celebrate July 4th

Fourth of July is a great way to bring your family together. It is also the perfect holiday to do cheap since no one is expecting any gifts. There are lots of way to celebrate Independence Day without breaking the bank. Here are some ways to have a fabulous 4th of July cheaply.

Take in a fireworks show. Many cities have grand fireworks shows often put on by the fire department. Noblesville's takes place at the high school.

Make a craft. You can easily make a fun and maybe messy patriotic craft.

Eat a festive snack. A snack can easily take on a festive look. Top any cake, cookies, or cupcakes with whip cream, strawberries, and blueberries. Take a healthy approach by making yogurt parfait with vanilla yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries.

Play some games. This time of year is perfect for a water balloon fight. You could also save up empty milk cartons and cut off the top then splash water at each other.

Dress up. Many stores offer patriotic apparel cheap. Look at Old Navy or Walmart for cheap t's.

Watch a parade. Many towns also offer parades for those arround. Noblesville's parade will run down Logan Street and start at 5pm on Saturday.
