On Friday July 3rd two new events will join the growing schedule of activities in Topeka. There will be a softball tournament and a chalk walk.

On Saturday July 4th events include a pancake breakfast at Tiffany's, basketball tournaments, pony pulls, tractor pulls, buggy races, big wheel races, pedal car races, a parade, and the country rock band Shilo.

There will be plenty to eat including pork burgers and BBQ chicken.

Fireworks are on Saturday.

The annual calf days event at Cook's Bison Ranch in Wolcottville is a great chance to see how the bison are raised, learn about what makes bison meat a healthy choice, and taste for yourself how it compares to the red meat you are used to.

The Indiana Department of Education, local school corporations, churches, and the USDA have come together to provide breakfast and lunch for kids in our area this summer Monday through Friday.

Lakeland School Corporation

Breakfast will be provided at Lakeland High School from 7:00 to 7:30.

Lunch will be provided at the high school from 12:00 to 1:00 and also at LaGrange Town Park, Howe Town Park, Ontario Town Park, and Taylor Park in Wolcottville.

Westview School Corporation

Breakfast will be provided from 7:15 to 7:45 at the Shore Mennonite Church: 7235 W US 20 in Shipshewana.

Lunch will be provided from 11:30 to 12:00 at the Topeka United Methodist Church: 124 W Pine Street, and at Shipshewana Elementary School and from 11:15 to 11:45 at Shore Mennonite Church.
