You've heard the news, you've seen the signs, FORECLOSURE! There are so many foreclosures throughout the Indianapolis area, however, we need to count our blessings that we are not in the kind of shape that Florida, (1 in every 158 households foreclosed on) California, (1 in every 154 households foreclosed on)Las Vegas (1 in every 54 households foreclosed on) and others find themselves in today. According to RealtyTrac RealtyTrac one in 373 households in the U.S. received a foreclosure filing.

Bank owned homes in Indianapolis-Carmel ranked 63 for Metro Cities. It's not pretty, but it could be worse. Actually, those numbers and our rankings could change by next quarter. The government moratorium that was implemented in December of 2008 did not allow banks to foreclose on Indianapolis homes for sale for nearly the entire first quarter of this year and then some.
