Fishers, Indiana isn’t exactly known as a walkable community. Or is it? According to www.walkscore.com, a site that measures the “walkability” of cities throughout the U.S., downtown Fishers scores a respectable 71 out of 100, or a Very Walkable rating. Very Walkable means most errands can be accomplished on foot. And when you think about it, that’s true! Downtown Fishers Indiana is a very walkable community.

From neighborhoods near the Fishers Town Center, including Sunblest Farms, Charleston Crossing, and Fishers Pointe townhomes, you can walk to the library, post office, pharmacy, a bank, a bakery, several restaurants, beauty salons, and gift shops, and Fishers Elementary School. Even Handel's Homemade Ice Cream! And with the addition in 2012 of an outdoor amphitheater and multipurpose trail north of the Town Center, downtown Fishers will become even more walkable!
Even Fishers neighborhoods further out from the Town Center score good walkability marks thanks to connecting pedestrian trails that border most main roads.
To learn the walkability rating of the neighborhood you live in – or dream of living in, someday – visit the walkscore.com site and enter your address. You’ll learn the Walk Score of your neighborhood, as well as which neighborhoods in your city, the state or even the nation have the best Walk Scores.

I love a challenge and to be able to write about anything under the kitchen sink strikes a chord with me. I can write, blog, chat and even graph on just about any topic.
After I looked under my sink, I decided the best choice for this was a bucket. You must first understand that I am an accountant by background (Real Estate is a 2nd career) and that means I am cheap. I am also fairly green and love to recycle. So as you look at my picture you might say "where is the bucket??" and I'd be pointing to the kitty litter container (aka bucket). It is now serving as a bucket after it's initial use was completed!
How do buckets relate to Real Estate, ah...easy. If you are a seller and especially if you have kids, then you know! You get that call from the Realtor that doesn't plan well that they would like to show your house in 20 minutes. ARGH! You desparately want to sell your house and Cindy in Indy, your Realtor has told you NOT to decline any showing.
So you swing into action and grab your "bucket(s)" and begin throwing all the toys, gadgets, unopened mail, items of clothing strewn on the family room floor and start throwing them into the...bucket!
Then you just grab the bucket and throw it into the car and away you go making it easy for the Realtor to show your house! You can sort through that stuff when you get back home and have more than 20 minutes to think through it!
This is really an organizational tip (disguised as a post) and I love an organization site called Fly Lady; every seller needs to review this site! She has great ideas for CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome).
If you want to sell your home, one of the first tips I will give you is to declutter.
But, we all know when you have kids and or pets, sometimes decluttering is a daily event. That is when having a handful of colorful buckets comes in handy. You leave them strategically placed around your home so you can fill, grab and go! Or if you are like me, you have about a dozen of these Fresh Step Kitty Litter buckets ready to go for just about any bucket sized task.
Where's that "EASY" button??
