. It was Late October - less than a few months ago when we received a referral (an email lead from another Broker) for a potential listing. Jeff did not hesitate to call immediately and set up an appointment for the very next day! The sellers plans included relocating soon! We discussed price and marketing strategies (including Active Rain) and signed the listing agreement documents (with approval from even a relative of one of the sellers who was present...a retired REALTOR, I might add :) We posted the Listing on AR 10/18/07 on LOCALISM and implemented our other Marketing Strategies as well. Alas, with no comments on the Blog Post for this home :( ....thank goodness we did have showings from our Local MLS exposure. Then, something AMAZING happened...LOL On Friday, November 23rd we received an EMAIL Sent Via Active Rain..... At first glance, we thought it was from a potential client or buyer......but after Jeff called the phone number provided in the email...he told me it was from another REALTOR who's client showed him the POST on ACTIVE RAIN and wanted him to schedule a showing for our listing!!! We scheduled the showing the next day with our sellers...... Since the Agent did not belong to our MLS, he had no way of knowing this listing was active other than that his client found it here on AR! Within a few days we had negotiated an offer accepted by all..... Jeff spoke with the Agent several times during the following weeks before closing, asking if he was on AR yet? As of today he is not :( We Closed Today 12/17/07.......... OUR LISTING THAT SOLD - THANKS TO ACTIVE RAIN :) Just 4 and 1/2 months of Blogging on Active Rain! = OUR FIRST CLOSED Transaction as a result of BLOGGING :) We've been very Blessed to have a Wonderful Year in REAL ESTATE, (despite media reports). SO NOW... "Blogging Listings" is definitely staying on our LIST of "Things that Work" when it comes to "Marketing Properties to Sell" !
