December's Season of Celebrations & Sharing Contest:

Portage Indiana Township Trustee Brendan Clancy has organized “The Santa Clause”.

This is a new program their office has implemented to help needy children in Portage Township.

Donations of unwrapped toys, gift cards or money may be made at the Portage Township Trustee’s office located at:

3484 Airport Road, Portage, IN 46368

Mon. – Thurs. 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Fri – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Please leave all donations by Friday, December 16, 2011. Hundreds of children will be helped through this program. You may look at a list of gift requested at the trustee’s office.

Businesses and organizations as well as the general public are invited to participate. The Woodchuck Woodcarving Club donated hand-made wooden toys to “The Santa Clause”. What a wonderful group!

Miller’s Senior Living Community in Portage, Indiana is sponsoring “Be a Santa to a Senior”.

A Christmas tree at Miller’s Senior Living Community will have ornaments with the names of a seniors along with their gift requests. Anyone who would like to help can pick up an ornament off the tree until December 9^th.

Items should be dropped off unwrapped to Miller’s Senior Living Community at 5911 Lute Rd., Portage, Indiana.

There are 11 Miller’s Senior Living Communities throughout Indiana. Started in 1964 Wallace and Connie Miller opened the first senior care facility just outside of Warsaw, Indiana.
