What's Your Favorite Thing About Sundown Salute?

Each year during the 4th of July, Heritage Park in Junction City, KS is bustling with activity with festival-goers attending Sundown Salute!  The annual 4th of July celebration is one of the things I love about Junction City.  Sundown Salute is a major event that draws people to Junction City for a few days of fun and entertainment in the form of live music, arts & crafts, demonstrations, a 4th of July parade, and more!

With many different things going on in and around Heritage Park, Sundown Salute offers something fun for everyone!  The concerts are a major attraction and the live music is what I like the most about the 4th of July celebration in Junction City, Kansas. 

There is always at least one nationally-known act who performs each year and many of the performers are tribute bands to well-known acts like Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Eagles, etc.  The headlining band scheduled to perform at the 2011 Sundown Salute is the 1970s rock band, Foghat!  Other bands scheduled at this year's event include Eliminator (ZZ Top Tribute Band), Change of Heart (Heart Tribute Band), and Liverpool (Beatles Tribute Band) to name a few.  The 2011 Sundown Salute Band Schedule provides a complete list of those who will be in concert this year.

Are You Ready for the 2011 Sundown Salute?

In less than a week from today, the annual 4th of July celebration in Junction City, KS will begin! The annual tradition known as "Sundown Salute" will kick off with a performance by Next Step Dance Studio at the bandstand in Heritage Park at 4:30 pm on Friday July 1, 2011. Heritage Park and the surrounding area is where most of the Sundown Salute festivities take place.

What fun is there to be had at the 2011 Sundown Salute? Each day is filled with live music, games, exhibits, crafts, food, and more! The Sundown Salute offers something fun for everyone! The Sundown Salute is one of my favorite things about living in Junction City, KS! I look forward to the 4th of July in Junction City, KS each year because of the entertainment and good times that are made possible by the major sponsors and individuals who keep this celebration going! Without their generous funding, the Sundown Salute would probably not be what it is.
