The Joy of Spring at Possum Trot

Paul Campbell Realtor Lexington Kentucky Homes for Sale: Real Estate Agent in Lexington, KY

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Possum Trot with an excellent videographer, Chad Rumford.  The dogwoods were beginning to bloom, the azaleas teased us with their first florescent buds breaking open, the lobelia was trailing over the rock walls and the beauty of the deciduous forest dressing themselves with new buds was stunning.

We were treated to the surprise of a large flock of turkeys as we made our way up to the wigwam.  This property is a magnificent treasure of water features, rolling hills, meadow land and numerous buildings that can function as a retreat center, a hunting lodge, or just a great place to raise a family and invite week end guests.

Give me a call and come on down to 794 Possum Trot Rd, Manchester, Ky 40962.  An hour and a half from Lexington and less than an hour from Berea.

Have you ever visited a place that felt like home? A place that continued to tug at your heart until you had to return if even to only drive by to take another look. 794 Possum Trot in Manchester is such a place. I will share a poem written by a frequent visitor of Possum Trot, Bill Medley. Bill lingered at Possum Trot soaking up the ambiance and chatting with fellow writers for almost 15 years.

Possum Trot

Solid oaks reflect passing timeLog Home at Possum Trot
Single rings built layer upon layer,
Widening and stretching to the sky.
Bending, bowing in the wind.
Eventually destined to fall.
Yet never relinquishing nor paling
From glorious days in the sun.

Friendships grow like that too,
Layer upon layer through passing time.
Close or far apart,
Through easy, soft, warm winds,
Or the coldest gales of winter and loss.

Leaving faces a bit more cracked by life,
Yet mellowed and aged beautifully
