Located just twenty minutes from downtown Louisville is Jefferson Memorial Forest in Fairdale, KY. Jefferson Memorial Forest will be hosting the 6^th Annual Forest Fest on May 15^th. The festival runs from 11am until 7pm, with music starting at 12:30pm. There will be music, food, craft items for sale, and youth activities throughout the day. The concerts are free, and parking is only $5 a carload.

The music for the day will be outstanding! Blue River and Dailey & Vincent are just two of the groups who will be performing. The "Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers" album is number one on the Bluegrass chart of Billboard Magazine.

When it comes to the food, we are talking about some good eats! Shack in the Back will start serving their famous BBQ at 11am. And when they say BBQ, they mean slow-cooked perfection with homemade sides. Of course, after you have some southern BBQ, you have to get some of Ehrler's Ice cream! Go ahead and indulge yourself!

The Forest Fest is fun for the whole family. Children's activities will start at noon, and be available until 4:30pm. Even one of the performers, Jeri Katherine Howell, is young. This 15-year old talent was named one of the World's Most Talented Kids on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Mt Holly United Methodist Churh, located at 804 Mt Holly Road in Fairdale Ky, will be holding its annual Dinner and Auction on Sat Sept 26, 2009. The dinnerwill start at 5 pm. The 75th Fairdale Fair will be held Friday Sept 18 and Sat Sept 19th at the Fairdale Elementry school, located at 10104 Mitchell Hill Rd in Fairdale Ky. There will be food, fun and rides.The parade will be on Sat Sept 19th starting at 12.00 pm. The Grand Marshall will be Jim Caskey, the parade Emcee will be Bobby Jack Murphy. The parade will begin at Fairdale High School and proceede south on Fairdale Rd and will end at the Elementry school.
