Georgetown is the population center and includes the large Toyota Manufacturing Plant.

In January there were 14 months of inventory for homes that were priced between $140,000 and $160,000 dollars in Scott County. A 14 month absorption rate for this price of home is highly unusual. It is highly likely that right now there are a bunch of desperate sellers that need to move their homes in this price range in Scott County.

If you are waiting to buy there has never been a time that I can remember (and I can remember president Eisenhower) when prices were so historically low, interest rates were historically low and there is a record inventory for homes. Take a look at some of the lovely homes for sale in Scott County that are terrific values and just waiting for you to snatch up.

The other day, I'm doing a Kentucky Home Inspection in Georgetown, KY on a 13 year old house. The seller was home. I asked her if there were any problems she was aware of before I got started. She said, "the heating bills are a bit high but that's all".

Lot's of tall walls (vaulted ceiling) in the house: living room, entry way, kitchen, master bedroom, second bedroom.

13 years later, as she's looking at spending a couple of thousand dollars to have the tall walls insulated (and wondering how much lower her heating and cooling bills would have been over the last 13 years), she's thinking, "BUT IT WAS NEW, I DIDN"T NEED AN INSPECTION!"

The builder is long gone.

She had a choice.

a. $300 or so for a new construction inspection.

b. $2,000 for insulation and unknown extra heating and cooling costs.

I wonder if she still thinks new construction doesn't need an inspection!

The new Chick-fil-A restaurant opens its doors bringing about 65 new jobs to Georgetown, KY. It's located just off the east side of Interstate 75 Exit 126 at 101 Tiger Way, Georgetown, KY

The first 100 people in line will get a coupon for one free meal a week.

There's some people REAL hungry for chicken waiting to get one of those coupons. They're camping out overnight to ensure they get a good place in line. Ya gotta be a nut. The overnight temperatures are projected to be in the high 20 degree range.

I'm just NOT that hungry for free chicken!

Open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday (Closed on Sunday) the restaurant will seat 144 people.

I'll stop by and welcome Brent Dennard, the franchise owner, and his gang at a more reasonable time without waiting in the cold overnight.
