Foundation forms in place with concrete poured.

The forms will stay in place for a day or more to allow the concrete to set up.

A double formed, poured concrete foundation allows for exterior

waterproofing and drain tile system that reduces water infiltration.

2 x 6 exterior walls in the lower level. I-joist, steel beam, LVL headers. All these features provide a stronger home thats "green"! A temporary gravel driveway reduces the possibility of construction vehicles tracking mud onto the street and reducing silt build up in drains and area streams. The black silt fence prevents erosion.

I-joist construction is an alternative to typical dimensional lumber, such as 2 x 10's. This benefits the environment by using less "old growth" trees. I-joist are strong, true to size, and stronger. This means you have a level, sturdy floor. What's better than a green floor that doesn't bounce like a trampoline? Note the steel I-beam?

Advantech subfloor sheathing is engineered for superior strength, moisture resistance and quality so we can build the quiet, stiff floor homeowners demand.

Simpson Strong Tie truss brackets tie the roof to the wall framing and reduce "uplift" in high winds.

House wrap (Pinkwrap) prevents water infiltration and the windows are taped to prevent water and air leakage. This provides a warm and mold resistant home, since mold requires moisture to grow.

Corner whirlpool tub and separate shower with a large obscured galss window will add natural light and privacy to the master bath. You will notice the pump for the whirlpool, which is required to have an access panel for reapairs. On the right hand side of the shower, there is a white pvc pipe that runs into the attic and through the roof. This is a vent pipe for the plumbing system. Each fixture (sink, tub, shower) has to vented in order for the drains to properly flow.

Drywall is stocked and insulation is ready to be installed. R-13 in the walls and R-38 in the ceiling. Older homes have either no insulation or R-30 in the ceilings. New homes are more energy efficient! A non-vented fireplace also reduces air infiltration, thus increase energy savings. Electric and cable have been run above the fireplace for a future flat panel television.

A structured wire panel makes it easy to access phone and cable lines. The blue wire is CAT5 phone wire, which allows up to 4 lines on one wire. The black wire is RG6 cable wire, which provides a signal for cable tv and high speed internet.

Cable and phone lines are in a separate panel near the electrical panel. A 200 Amp serviceprovides ample "juice" for this home.
R-38 insulation provides great resistence to heat loss (or gain...depending on the season) than the typical R-30 (or less) in existing homes.
Vinyl windows with Low-E glass increase energy efficiency and cut down on fading of furniture and floors.
The shingles are on to provide a dry interior for the completion of the home.
Brick in on site and covered to keep water from saturating the brick prior to installation. Brick is very pourous, which can significantly increase the weight and cause the brick to "float" when layed atop the mortar.
Angle iron's are used above windows and doors to carry the weight of the brick.
