Cub Scouts are ALL wet! in the Rain!

Erby Crofutt, the Central Kentucky Home Inspector, Lexington KY HI-2041: Inspector in Lexington, KY

Hey Erby,

How did you manage through the May 1st flooding in Kentucky?

Well, my grandsons convinced me that it would be good for me to take them to a Cub Scout Pack 167 Camping event at Camp McKee ( a large Boy Scouts of America Blue Grass Council Camp). Of course, the event and the camping were planned well in advance.

We were someplace out in the woods around the Camp Mckee Lake. The McKee Scout Reservation is a 900 acre camping facility nestled in a 3,000 acre forest near Mount Sterling, Kentucky.

Too bad we couldn't have planned for good weather. Yup, we stayed for the whole thing. Even after this came rolling across the sky and dumped about five inches of rain over Central kentucky.

Did you know that you can keep your grandsons feet real dry with rain boots. That's what I thought, that is, until they went wading waist deep in the lake. Didn't do much good then. I guess they were trying to catch fish in their rain boots.

Of course, I'm shriveled up like a prune from being so wet all weekend.

But, all in all, we had a good time and created some great memories.
