Another round of Craigslist scammers copying local real estate listings and offering them for rent or sale at outrageously low prices. The sad part is that there are people falling for "wire me the deposit and I'll send you the keys" or they wouldn't keep doing it.

•(1) Victims need to report the scam to their local police department in the town where the rental is located and the state police. This is a crime, so it should be reported.

•(2) Report this to the Internet Fraud Center at the FBI: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

•(3) Report it to the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

(4) Finally, report it to Craigslist: 800-664-0633 There will be a menu, choose the one for Law Enforcement. Hours of Operation: Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 4:30pm PST. Email if you prefer: help@craigslist.org Be sure to include the 10-digit Craigslist ad number.

Please note that if the scammers are from Nigeria, there is nothing anyone can do to recover the money.

5 BR home, 3.5 baths, fantastic location, great schools, separate dining hall, eat-in kitchen, granite, hardwoods $599 per month. Must sale it immediately! 5% down payment. Avail the benefit of buyer's property market and Purchase home at 60% off. We offer low interest rate program to all buyers. Rate for 20 years 5%. Contact us over phone 24/7 to visit our homes.

Bottom line, if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!
