School Zones are In Effect

It's that time of year. Lets take care and when we drive. Especially in school zones. Speed limits are strictly enforce. Also be aware of school buses loading and unloading children. Most area local schools zone are patrolled and tickets are issue with no bias. A school bus driver can report any violation of the law. The fines for this violation can be substantial and the driver’s license may be suspended. Most school zones have reduce speed limits in effect from 7-9 am and 2-4 pm. It is the driver responsibility to be aware of the times and speed which is acceptable.

Louisiana Tax Free Dates

Tax Free Day is this upcoming weekend in Louisisiana.Several states have these type of tax free holiday. The Tax free day has limit on the dollar amount of your purchase. The limit is $2,500.00 dollar here in Louisiana. 

In light of our current economy and gas prices this will be a welcome relief. The timing this year is also very important; back to school for most in the New Orleans area will begin during the following weeks.

Last night my family and I enjoyed several fireworks displays from the top of the Best Buy in Metairie, La. One in the distance was from St. Charles Parish and the other nearby Lafreniere Park in Metairie. The fireworks display that lasted 20 minutes appx.
