Uptown
________________________________

There is much controversy in New Orleans on what constitutes Uptown but the most modern recognized boundaries for Uptown are the Mississippi River to South Claiborne Avenue and Jackson Avenue to Broadway. It encompasses a number of neighborhoods from the CBD to Jefferson Parish. Some of these neighborhoods are The Irish Channel, The Garden District, Central City, University/ Audubon Area and Carrolton.
Uptown was developed during the 19th century, mostly from land that had been plantations in the Colonial era. Several sections were originally developed as separate towns, such as Carrolton, Lafayette, Jefferson City, and Greenville. Originally Uptown was part of Jefferson Parish until the city of New Orleans annexed it in 1874.

Today Uptown is an upbeat lively part of the city its best known for Tulane and Loyola University, Audubon Park, magnificent mansions along St Charles and all the shops restaurants and boutiques on Magazine St. The locals are a mixture of college students, young professionals, middle aged families and retires. Home prices vary widely from $150,000 to in the millions.

In comparison to The French Quarter most of the neighborhoods in Uptown are a little more laid back with a relaxed atmosphere but still nothing short of amazing.

CDPE Designation

I am pleased to announce that I am now a Certified Distressed Property Expert. This is additional training so I can help homeowners navigate their options if they owe more on their home than their home is worth. I can now help homeowners who are in financial distress and don’t know where to turn, who may qualify for a short sale rather than endure a foreclosure. There is help available. CDPE’s are trained in how to analyse a homeowner’s financial picture and determine the best direction to take. This is a sensitive topic for many people who chose not to do anything, or think they know what their options are, or try to navigate this process on their own. If you find yourself “upside down” or facing a potential foreclosure do not let the time pass until it is too late to salvage the situation. This can happen to anyone . Upperline Restaurant in New Orleans - A Delight for the Senses

My visit to The Upperline Restaurant in New Orleans the other night with friends was a delight for the senses, combining two of my passions.

Upperline Restaurant in New Orleans LAThe Upperline Restaurant was a perfect marriage of art and great food in a delightful old building. Owner JoAnn Clevenger is a charming host, restauranteur, and art collector, and you know immediately you are in for a treat upon entering.

If you can steer your eyes away from the walls that are crammed with an eclectic collection of art spanning decades from local and regional artists to peruse the dinner menu of Creole and contemporary cuisine, you're sure to find it hard to decide what to have.

Our service was outstanding, and the food exceeded expectations, despite being led to expect great things. The photos, hopefully, do at least some justice to the flavorful creations at The Upperline Restaurant
