It seems like everywhere I go these days people want to know about the real estate market. In the past I have cited government reports, or MLS data for a more local picture. Interestingly enough most sales books will advise that such inquires are wonderful selling moments.

Being a greedy fellow, I wanted to find a method of convincing folks that I have the best handle on the market. Let's just say statistics alone are rarely enough to accomplish this. Borrowing a page from the condo folks along the gulf coast, I have decided to post a picture on Facebook each morning of my desk.

This will be called "Doug's daily market report" or something snappy. But every morning my Facebook friends will see the volume of crap on my desk. Odds are this method is just as reliable as government statistical models that taxpayers fund to the tune of millions each year.

The sad part is this isn't even my main office. I have annexed a "sunning room" near the front door that handles my over flow. Of course this project will die a flaming death when my broker sees the mess I have created. Till then my Facebook friends will have an accurate gauge of the greater Pineville real estate market.
