This weekend they are proud to present The King Stag. It is a fairy tale full of love, betrayal, magic spells and merriment. Written in the 18th Century by Carlo Gozzi, it is the story of King Deramo and his long search for a queen. When he finds Angela, his love, the story becomes complicated when Tartaglia, the evil minister, also falls in love with Angela. Spells are cast to send the King's soul into the corpse of a stag and to cast Tartaglia's soul into the King's body. Confusion and fairy tale shenanigans ensue.

Canton MA - The Place to Be for Saint Patrick's Day
Canton MA has the distinguished honor of being home to the Irish Cultural Centre of New England (ICC). Given that Saint Patrick's Day is around the corner, it is the perfect place to celebrate the biggest Irish holiday of all.

The ICC will be holding its Saint Patrick's Day celebration from 8 am to 11:30 pm. That's right, you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day all day long!
Here is the schedule of events:
8 am - Noon: Irish Breakfast served
10 am: Viewing of All Ireland Final Highlights from 1947 - 1959
Noon: Boiled dinner served.
2 pm: Irish music starts in the Pub
7 pm: Modern Irish music
In addition, Irish step dancers will be performing throughout the day.
Cost of admission is $10.00 starting at noon. Cost of food is separate & is $12.00 per person. I imagine there might be some beer & other beverages for sale as well!
Of course, it is Saint Patrick's Day year-round at the ICC. There are classes and events ongoing throughout the year, and of course, the Irish Festival in the summer - so stay tuned for details as that approaches!

Canton MA's Galvin Middle School Performs at State House
I took a break from my busy day (busy week, busy month!) today to go in to the Massachusetts State House to watch the Eight Grade Chorus from the Galvin Middle School perform at the State House.
My daughter is in the 8th grade chorus and when I heard they were going to be performing there I thought it was a great opportunity for them. I wanted to see them yet as the day approached all I could think about was how busy I was. Luckily, I decided to go anyway!
They performed on the Grand Staircase on the second floor at the Massachusetts State House this morning. State Rep. William Galvin (who, yes IS related to the Galvin for whom the middle school is named) had arranged for their performance and was on hand to watch as well.
They performed some of the same songs they had sung at their Winter Concert yet it felt like a new performance to me. The accoustics in the historic State House building allowed their voices to be heard from the first floor all the way up to the fourth floor. It sounded fantastic.
All of the songs were wonderful but my favorites were the song "Africa" and their closing number "Song for Unsung Heros" which is a piece dedicated to veterans and first responders.
Kudos to the students of the Galvin Middle School 8th Grade Chorus and of course, their dedicated chorus teacher, Mr. John Russell, and all of the performing arts staff of the Canton Public Schools.
Upon completion of the concert, students were treated to a tour of the State House by Rep. Galvin and even got to visit the House Chamber.

Anyone Who Says This is a Buyers Market is Not a Buyer!
This was the comment from one of my clients this morning when we were talking about upcoming showings. For one home we are looking at tomorrow, I have had three clients ask to see this same property, the day it came on the market. For another one, I have two people asking to see it. The client I was dealing with is interested in both properties and I did disclose to her the level of interest.
And if I, just one buyer broker in Canton MA have three clients interested in seeing a property, imagine how many others are considering it?
The last three offers I have submitted for clients have been multiple offer situations. One went in above asking price, one at asking price and one a decent offer but below asking price.
The issue in Canton MA and some of the other Norfolk County communities is the quality of the inventory. There may be a large number of homes for sale, the number of decent homes for sale is much smaller. When a well-priced home in good condition comes on the market, buyers who have been looking for a little while know it. The smart ones move quickly.
It cannot be said often enough - all real estate is local. Do not assume that the trends you hear about on the national news apply the same everywhere. Markets vary from town to town, even within the same state and county.
