365 Things to do in Worcester County - read the review for "Hotel on Marvin Gardens" in Charlton. Every actor I know looks forward to reading the review of the play. And I am no exception. I relish in seeing my name in the paper with, hopefully good comments attached.

After all, the effort that goes into a production is amazing: There are months of rehearsals, memorization of lines, development of character, the hunt for props and costumes, tedious Tech week and the opening night Jitters. When you survive the list of preparation, the proverbial curtains are drawn and the play is out, the project is done. One can not recreate it if the audience or the critic does not like the final result. So, there is nothing left to do, but hold your breath and read the review, hoping that the reviewer liked the play and you in it.

The hotel on Marvin Gardens is a story of a group of people getting together to play the game of Monopoly. The goal of monopoly is the accumulation of wealth and that is where our story begins. The five people in the play have 5 different perspective on life, the game and accumulation of wealth.

We got 3 out of 4 stars in the review and I liked Paul Kolis's comment "Hotel on Marvin Gardens" is worth checking into. Very well written. So if you are not doing anything this week end, and would like to come see the show, please come to the Charlton library on Friday and Saturday for the 7:30 pm show and Sunday Matine at 2:00 pm. 365 things to do in Worcester County - Rehearse Hotel on Marvin Gardens in Charlton.  I have been doing this for many weeks now and will continue to do for a few more.  I am participating in a play called Hotel on Marvin Gardens.  It is written by Nagle Jackson and takes place on an island of Connecticut coast.  The story revolves an annual game of Monopoly where a foursome get together to play.  The game of monopoly reflects the greed in society and the "traditional goal" of accumulating wealth.

The group is interrupted by a young woman from "the other side of the tracks".  This interaction brings to light certain long unspoken issues, add a long night of drinking, a storm, and all mayhem breaks loose.

I have enjoyed my participation in the rehearsals not only because I love theater and being on stage, but mostly because I have been lucky to share the stage and my rehearsals with my oldest daughter.  It has been fun sharing rides, diners and lines with my first born and I highly recommend this as one of my 365 things to do in Worcester County - Rehearse Hotel on Marvin Gardens in Charlton.

The town is bordered on the west by Sturbridge; on the north by East Brookfield, Spencer and Leicester; on the east by Oxford and on the south by Dudley and Southbridge.
