Jane Becker CRS,ASP,ABR,CBR,CDPE,LMC,E-PRO,GRI: Real Estate Agent in Worcester, MA

365 Things to do in Worcester County – Walk for hunger in CLINTON. On May 28, 2011 at 10:00 am, WHEAT Community Services, The Item Appeal, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society are organizing their yearly walk to stump out hunger. This 5 mile walk for Hunger “nourishes” emergency programs that include the WHEAT food pantry, the Item Appeal and St. Vincent de Paul emergency relief programs, and WHEAT Community Café, which serves a hot meal six nights a week.

This Fund raiser has become an annual tradition for many families, school, religious, and work organizations. The resources these organizations create are invaluable to the community. In the past three years, walkers have raised more than $15,000 to help hungry families and neighbors struggling to make ends meet.

The planning committee is reaching out to local business leaders and civic organizations for sponsorships to defer costs so that all proceeds from walkers can go directly into fighting poverty in the towns of Berlin, Bolton, Clinton, Lancaster and Sterling. Business and civic leaders are urged to consider a sponsorship donation – any amount will be greatly appreciated – and to gather a team to walk together.”
