Its proximity to the center of town sets it apart as one that is close to Route 135, the heart of Hopkinton within walking distance to shops and restaurants and with easy access to Route 495, the Mass Pike and the MBTA station.

Hearthstone is a fantastic Hopkinton Massachusetts neighborhood located off of Ash Street near the center of town.
There are 27 homes located in this convenient Hopkinton neighborhood. Hearthstone Road and Carriage Hill Road are the Streets that compromise this subdivision.
Hearthstone was approved in the mid 1990's under the Hopkinton Open Space by-law (OSLPD). Under the open space by-law the lot size is reduced but in return the developer give back land that will remain undisturbed creating a green belt.
There are probably many folks that don't remember this but Carriage Hill Road was a dead end for quite a while before the Hearthstone subdivision was built. The street had only 3 homes and was a dead end. The 1st home on the street was built in the early 1990's.

Once the road was extended the subdivision took off and many homes were built in a short time frame. Most of the homes in Hearthstone were built around the year 2000.
The minimum lot size in Hearthstone is .5 acres although there are quite a few lots that approach an acre in size.
There were a few different builders that built homes in this neighborhood but the bulk of them were done by Craig Meyer of Meyer Homes Inc. Craig has an outstanding reputation for building a real quality home.
In addition to Hearthstone, Meyer Homes also constructed the homes on Fawn Ridge Road at Brick Hill Estates, a million dollar plus luxury neighborhood on the Hopkinton/Ashland line.
The Meyer Built homes have generally captured the most money upon re-sale.
As of October 2008 the value of the homes in the neighborhood would range between around $600,000 up to in the 800's for a few of the homes.
Most of the properties would have a value between $600 - $750K.
The homes range in size from around 2900 square feet up to over 4000+ square feet. The majority of the homes are around the 3300 - 3700 square foot mark.
The terrain of the neighborhood is up and down like a few other Hopkinton subdivisions. Some of the lots have steep driveways as seen in the picture to the left.
One of the real attractive features for Hearthstone is it's close proximity to the town center. It is literally only a 1/2 mile from the Hopkinton town common.
One of the other strong suites is the fact that town sewer is available. Most of the Hopkinton's homes are serviced by septic systems other than areas around the center of town and the Lake Maspenock area.
Many buyers who relocate to the area have never had to deal with a Title V septic system. The piece of mind knowing that you don't have septic system that could fail even if it is a few decades away, can give a buyer a sense of security.
The starting line for the world famous Boston Marathon is only a short walk up the street. For many years Hopkinton has been a destination town because of the exceptional strength of Hopkinton High School and the towns excellent commuter location.
For those that like to head to Boston via the train, The MBTA is located in the adjoining towns of Southboro and Ashland. The Mass Pike is the 1st exit north on Rte 495.
If you like living near the center of town and it's in your budget, Hearthstone would be worth a look.
