365 things to do in Worcester County - Shop on Black Friday. Shop-a-holics unite! This is your national holiday. This is the day where you can go out into the shopping world and have an excuse for some major retail therapy.
But be forewarned we are all out there in full force. We are lining the stores and pull out the coupons, we are working against the time clock for as everyone knows, there are golden hours and this is the time where we are at our worst., hkm,m, I mean our best.
So be prepare to wear light layers, for you don't want to carry your coat around with you. Bring your puse or murse that leaves your hands free like a backpack or news boy style. Wear comfortable shoes preferrably sneakers but if you are a fashionista, may I suggest making black sketchers part of your wardrobe.
A few rules to keep in mind. Don't use loud happy voice before noon time. I don't care if you are at the Disney store this really annoys those of us who don't typically get up before 5:00 am. Keep all your receipts in one place in case you want to tally things up. Bring small bills if you are in company of others and need to split the restaurant bill. Grab water/coffee what ever you need to keep going.
The hours can be brutal and you will come home poorer and exhausted but the next moring you can look at your wonderful hoard and imagine your friends family and acquaintenances smiling as they open your thougthful gifts. Now come on, you know you got a few things for your self as well. This is why I make this one of my 365 things to do in Worcester County - Shop on Black Friday
This year we visited stores on Rte 9 in Northborough, Westborough, Framingham and Natic and finished off in Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough, where did you?

Making Home Affordable Website Answers Consumer Questions
Uncle Sam gets an A+ for the new website released last week to promote the details of President Obama's Making Home Affordable Program. Now it is very easy to see if you qualify for the programs just by going to the website at www.MakingHomeAffordable.gov and exploring the handy interactive self-assessment tools, calculators, and lists of helpful resources.
The website prominently notes that the program is free to participants. As noted right here in this blog, foreclosure scams are big business these days. There is no need to pay any money to anyone to see if you qualify and get help. If you don't qualify, the website points you to free resources to help you find alternatives. (The Making Home Affordable program aims to help two groups of homeowners who are making a good faith effort to stay in their homes:
Borrowers who want to refinance but are unable to because the value of their home has fallen.
Borrowers who cannot make their mortgage payments because their interest rate has increased or their income has fallen.
