"When a miracle lives in our heart, We can see far beyond the clouds" -Author, Bernadine Pellicier

Sadly, most of us have lost someone we love or know a cancer survivor. I share my story on my American Cancer Society Relay for Life webpage. The URL is printed at the bottom of this post.

This is only my second year participating in this event. I plan to continue supporting this cause in my own small ways as long as I am able to do so. Last year I was on the Blake track at Springfield College and knew that I was going to return. The experience was uplifting, exciting, joyous and even a little surreal at times. Since I was a newbie, I started with a very small goal and surpassed it. This year, I haven't really decided what my monetary goal will be so I entered a small amount with the intention of changing it to a much higher amount as I see what this year's efforts are accomplishing. I really would love to see ten times that amount but we'll see how things advance.

As an incentive to raise more funds, I am gifting copies of my inspirational artwork. This is a sincere "Thank You" to each person who donates any amount to the charity event via my web page as my supporter.

I plan to give away an inspirational photographic image that I initially created for a different purpose but this cause is much more important. I photographed a twilight sky that was absolutely brilliant. It will be larger and printed on quality paper, ready to be framed. Also copyright information will appear on the back side (not like shown in this image)

The image on the internet is very low res so it appears blurred but the actual image is HI-Resolution and very sharp.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK:

I am giving away copies of my inspirational artwork as a "Thank You" to anyone who donates via my web page as my supporter. Choose verse in ENGLISH or SPANISH.

The image will be larger, printed on quality paper. It will be a HIGH RESOLUTION, SHARP not low-res, blurred. Copyright information will be on back side, removed from front.

The old "First Church" in Springfield, Ma has closed it's doors.

MAUREEN STACCATO Associate Partner Massachusetts: Real Estate Agent in Springfield, MA
Founded in 1637, Old First Church is the oldest church in Western Massachusetts, and among the oldest in the United States. At the time of its incorporation, the Church counted among its membership every resident of Springfield. The current Meeting House, completed in 1819, was designated as a state historical landmark in 1971 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. In fact, the church's historical significance cannot be overstated-in addition to its integral role in the birth of the Springfield, the church provided a stop along the Underground Railroad, and played host to famed statesman Daniel Webster, and abolitionist John Brown. Upon his death in 1848, the body of President John Quincy Adams lay in State at Old First Church.

Through its denomination, the United Church of Christ, Old First Church has long participated in worldwide outreach programs to aid the poor. Locally, its efforts have included housing the Open Pantry, the city's largest food distribution center for the needy; participation in the Loaves and Fishes meal program for the homeless; and serving as host to the city's first and largest Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Despite its conservative New England roots, Old First Church is among the most socially progressive in Massachusetts-a church that has paved the way for other congregations to follow suit, and one that has provided unconditional resources within and beyond the city of Springfield.
