Waterfront home sales decreased by 25% over the previous months sales and increased by 20% over January 2011 sales. As for sales price.... low and high sale prices can fluctuate dramatically due to waterfront homes being unique to themselves. One large sale or even one low sale can send the numbers askew so I will not be giving sale figures on price month over month or year over year.

Special Olympics Maryland Polar Bear Plunge ~ Not so Polar in 2012.

Saturday January 28th 2012 ~ The biggest fundraiser of the year for Special Olympics Maryland is the 16th Annual Maryland State Police POLAR BEAR PLUNGE at Sandy Point Park (Just outside Annapolis and pretty much under the Bay Bridge for those who are unfamiliar with the area). Usually this time of year the temps are frigid and snow is even anticipated. CRAZY "Super Plungers" unrobe and dive into the Chesapeake Bay to raise money for an awesome charity. Some really unfortunate folks sign up for 24 hours of this torture.


This year, maybe thanks to global warming, the anticipated temperature in Central Maryland for Saturday is 47 degrees. A walk in the park for many of these pros who dive into the bay to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland every year.
So far the money raised is over 2 million for 2012 and an extraodinary day of fun, entertainment and fundraising awaits the mass of people who have signed up.
