Vampire Manor Haunted House Opens 22nd Season in Southern Maryland!

[/caption] I admit, Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. There's just something about being able to put on a completely ridiculous costume and scaring the bejeezus out of little kids that causes me to crave Halloween each year.

That or I like the insane sugar rush that come along with buying discount Halloween candy the next day in bulk, take your pick.

Charles County has also had a long-standing love for making people scream during this time of year, and for the last few decades there's a haunted house in Charles County known as Vampire Manor that has been terrifying visitors both young and old.

Vampire Manor has officially opened for their 22nd season, they are located in Bel Alton, MD and the Haunted House is owned by the Charles County Dive and Rescue Team.

Here's the deal: If you haven't been there yet, check it out! The money goes to support the rescue team (i.e., a very good cause!), It's awesome (I know, I used to work there when I was in high school!), and it's cheap! Tickets are only $10, or $5 for kids under 12.

What makes this place so scary is that the house has been adapted for the haunted house, it's used only for that purpose so it's not some lame store front with curtains hung to make it look scary. This is the real deal! If you planning on heading out there, here's the address to the parking lot where you can pick up the shuttle express to Vampire Manor:

Southern Maryland Real Estate~ Jonathan Benya: Real Estate Agent in Waldorf, MD
Berry M DeepVampire Manor has sorta become an institution in Charles County. Every year for as long as I can recall, Vampire Manor has existed at one location or the other throughout the county. This year is no exception, and although the opening date seemed a little late, they are officially open now through November 1st. It's a fun little haunted house, and it's certainly designed for the older kids (not the sort of place for toddlers here). If you want something fun to do this Halloween, you should check them out! Ticket prices range from $5-$10, and their hours are as follows:
  • Thursday - Sunday, Oct 16-19
  • Thursday - Sunday, Oct 23-26
  • Thursday - Saturday, Oct 30-Nov 1
7:30-10:00 on weeknights 7:30-11:00 on weekends All of the proceeds go to the local Volunteer Fire Department and other local non-profit organizations, so it's all for a good cause! Bear in mind that there is no on-site parking, so you will need to park at the Bel Alton VFD: 9765 Bel Alton Newtown Road Bel Alton, MD 20611 They have a courtesy shuttle running to and from the Manor, so just be aware of the parking situation before you go!
