St. Mary's County Home Buyers - Maryland Mortgage Program

Funds Made Available for Home Buyers in St. Mary's County

The Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary's County urges St. Mary's County Home Buyers - residents to use the Maryland Mortgage Program. Over $3 million was approved for use by St. Mary's County Home Buyers - citizens to finance home purchases at the County Commissioners meeting on Sept. 1.

"We know that the housing sector is a critical part of our county's economy and that our families desire home ownership," said Francis Jack Russell, President, Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary's County. "We approved the use of the county's allocation of federal housing bond funds for individual mortgages for qualifying families. While the funds are part of a state program, our allocation will be reserved for St. Mary's County residents for two months."Eligibility for the program is income-based. Qualifying families in St. Mary's County include 1-2 person households making less than $85,600 and 3 or more person households making less than $98,440. The maximum mortgage amount under this program for St. Mary's County is $343,125.

The goal of the Wounded Warrior Project is to provide the necessary resources for this generation of wounded veterans to be the most well adjusted, productive, and successful generation of veterans this country has ever known.

It is the St. Mary's County Elks Lodge's pleasure to spotlight the Wounded Warrior Project as the annual charity that they dedicate their efforts to raise awareness in the community.
