Southern Maryland Church Suppers are a Fall Ritual in Calvert County. I hit them all. Family members, Friends, Clients, and Neighbors all get in their dressed down duds to enjoy a Southern Maryland Feast. This time of year there are lots of Ham and Oyster Suppers. The next one is at Trinity in Prince Frederick, MD on Saturday Dec 5, 2009. A bunch of us just went to the Crabcakes and Ham Church Supper at St Paul's last weekend which was sensational! I think Mt. Harmony outdid themselves this year on their Ham and Oyster Dinner. I missed the one at Huntingtown and still am fussing about it. It's a great place to see friends and neighbors and people you've sold homes to over the years. It's a way of life here. Hope to see you at the next Southern Maryland Church Supper!

Christmas Family and Friend and Client Party...Throw your own Wreath Making Dinner Party! It's that time of year again. The day after Thanskgiving I go to my Friends' Farm and we start snipping holly and magnolia and pine branches from the trees. Then we load it up in my old car that has survived almost 20 years worth of Wreath Making Dinner Party Preparations . Then I drive home and unload each of the piles onto my Porch. More friends bring cuttings during the week preceding the Wreath Making Dinner Party. Each early evening, I go out by the Beach and pull vines from the trees to make the circular bases. Everyone also brings a sheet filled with cuttings from their yard the day of the Wreath Making Dinner Party. We add dried flowers and grasses from roadsides. It is a smorgasbord of natural cuttings. I have everybody bring a dish, their sheet with clippings to share ( which becomes the sheet to transport home the finished wreath) and gloves and clippers. A few party goers bring gold spray paint for the magnolia leaves. All you do then is go around the well organized porch and insert whatever clipping or dried flower you like into the bases I have prepared or the vines I have twisted into large circular wreaths. It is my signature party every year and brings Christmas back into focus. I have time to spend with each family member and friend and client and fellow Realtors as they quite seriously construct their masterpieces. What Books are NEW on your Kindle Lately? I download books on the Amazon.com Kindle when I have just read a review or heard someone mention a book that sounds interesting and I just can't wait two seconds flat to dig in and start reading it. Unfortunately, the new Ted Kennedy and Sarah Palin books were not yet available on the Kindle so I had to cave in and go to the Bookstore. I tend to gravitate toward Business and Biographies that are NEW Arrivals to summarzie simply. But the list goes on and on, so what Books are NEW on my Kindle Lately?

I have focused on a lot of Dummies books. I got over the term Dummies when I realized how succint and how well written this series is for Computer Programs and Social Networking Products. Facebook Marketing for Dummies, Facebook for Dummies, Vista for Dummies, Windows 7 for Dummies, and then every Dummies book about Twitter and LinkedIn and Blogging and Podcasting I could find I have all downloaded in sixty seconds flat - which works well for my kind of microwave- type, want to read it NOW enthusiasm when I find out about a good book! Then I've also just downloaded "The Power of Full Engagement" which covers energy management versus time management for higher productivity.

Elvis Presley and Real Estate? Okay, what does Elvis Presley have to do with Real Estate?

I love to read, and as you know from my Kindle Tales and Calvert County Library posts, and Nook mentions and Barnes and Noble expeditions, I like books of all kinds and all shapes and all subjects coming at me rapidly. Something in a book about Elvis Presley always stuck with me. It mentioned that if he had just taken the things he did for fun, and also turned them into money making ventures, what a difference it would have made. I like to ponder this now and then when I start a new project or go off on a new tangent and make sure that my fun is aligned with a way to incorporate it into my business. For instance, I scanned my family recipe file for posterity and used it as closing gifts for customers and friends. I also scanned my relative's photo collections and posted them on private Facebook Groups as a way to network. I need to clean out my Garage, so I am going to scan my old files and post them on Relay to show the NEW way of Document sharing and communication. I don't always convert the fun into business, but I try to give it a thought when I'm going to do something anyway. You never know, when you have fun at work then work becomes fun.

What are your Top Ten Tech Tools Today?

This lists changes every few months as more products hit the market, but off the top of my head, my Top Ten Tech Tools Today would be:

www.Xobni.com which spelled backwards is Inbox. It works with Microsoft Outlook and revs up the search speed for every attachment, conversation and data for a particular contact. But the coolest part is that it also pulls up the contact's facebook photo so you know what someone looks like before you meet them.

Fujitsu Scan Snap Scanner is a rapid fire way to scan docs on both sides in all sizes, shapes and thicknesses plus in color using a gadget that takes up a very small area on your desk. I have scanned my case files, my recipe files for CD gifts, and thousands of photos for Facebook Private groups.

www.Snagit.com captures screen images and websites and is used almost daily once you get it loaded. A day without Snag It? Uh oh.

The Kindle from www.Amazon.com is wonderful. When I heard about the book "Power of Engagement" the other day, I pulled down a sample to read and within minutes decided to purchase it and breeze thru it over the Holidays. I like the microwave access to a book I have just decided to read. Plus I find the portablilty of my entire library wonderful for a Realtor on the go.

I like the price and ease of Carbonite which is an on line Back up program that Active Rain Bloggers mentioned.

I like the Flip Video for intuitive, easy YouTube Videos.

I like the Ipod for listening to Brinton and Buffini Cd's on the run..more like while on the walk!

I think I would end up with Tweetdeck.com for updates during the day of Facebook and Twitter entries.

And of course I would put Active Rain and Real Bird as the two newcomers on my Top Ten Favorite Tech Tool List.
