Neeld Estate in Huntingtown MD Residents Need Help from Storm! The storm damage will be on Channel 9 News tonight showing that the Homeowners along the Neeld Estate Beach closer to the Breezy Point Harbor are being deluged with water again. The recent storms have obliterated the beach and all that is keeping the water from coming in several of the homes is the relentless effort of the neighbors to pile thousands of sand bags and hundreds of tires along the front of the homes. Until you see this, you cannot fathom the devastation. I took an old tire down and some old real estate signs to stake them in the sand. I worked for an hour pushing tires from the roadfront to the beachfront. I've tried calling the local fire departments, the Sheriiff's Office, and EMailing a few local politicians I know. If you can help or know anyway to get help for these Neeld Estate, Huntingtown Neighbors, please do so. Thanks!

Calvert County Events - Adopt a Senior Pet Month
When: Monday, November 30, 2009 Where: Humane Society and Tri-County Animal Shelter via Humane Society of Calvert County, Maryland
All month long we are celebrating our senior animals. We have several great senior animals that need a loving home. As you can see, by our Senior Mascot Ray, he is enjoying his forever home. Ray was a former senior chained dog, he is now living a great dogs life. If we do not have that senior animal that you are looking for, we encourage you to visit Tri-County Animal Shelter. They too have many loving,
healthy seniors available for adoption. During the month of November, the adoption fee for senior pets is reduced to $45. "Senior" pets or "mature" as we prefer to call them, are animals that are five (5) years or older. But don't let the age fool you-mature pets have many years ahead of them to give and get love. They already have their manners, meaning they usually are housebroken, calmer and less destructive than their younger counterparts, and may already know some tricks that they can share with their new owners. You'll already know how big they will get and what they will look like, which you can't guarantee with a puppy or kitten. Sometimes people believe that adult animals must be at the shelter because they are "bad" animals, and in most cases this is not true. Pets are relinquished for many reasons including owners are moving, allergies, deployment, foreclosure, eviction, or the owners have died. These pets are just looking for someone to love and care for them. If you have room in your home and in your heart for a mature pet who's looking for a second chance, and you would like to take advantage of the reduced adoption fee, visit the Tri-County Animal Shelter during the month of November for your new best friend. The Tri-County Animal Shelter is located at 6707 Animal Shelter Road, Hughesville, MD. 20637. Adoption hours are M-F 12pm-5pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. The shelter is closed on Sunday and all Charles County Government holidays.

Calvert County - First Time Home buyer Credit - And a Bonus
The real estate community has finally gotten its answer on the extension of the First Time Home buyer credit with the addition of a credit for current homeowners who have owned a home 5 of the last 8 years. This bonus is much needed to improve the real estate market as a whole. While the First Time Home Buyer initiative has provided a tremendous boost to the number of sales in the past year, generating increased confidence in the economy overall, including this sector of the market minimizes the partitioning between buyers and sellers. For many sellers it has been very difficult for them to move on due to the prices they have been able to receive for their homes. By creating this incentive for sellers, it should help to bring sellers into the market and provide a platform to put home values on track for at least some level of appreciation.
Sellers have been looking for compelling reasons to move on. By including them, it is good for the real estate market, as well as the overall economy.

A recap:
For First Time Home Buyers or those who have not owned a home within 3 years, the tax credit remains at $4000 for singles and $8000 for couples, with income restrictions maxing out at $125,000 and $225,000 respectively. Current homeowners - those defined as having owned a home for five of the previous eight years - can now also take advantage of a credit, with slightly lesser amounts of $3250 for singles and $6500 for couples, with the income restrictions the same as described above. To qualify for the new program, purchase agreements need to be signed by April 30th and close by June 30th. For those in our armed forces, persons stationed outside the United States on official duty for 90 days during the period from January 1st 2009 and before May 1st 2010 will have eligibility extended for binding contracts signed before May 1st, 2011 and closed before July 1st, 2011.
