Carroll County, Maryland Recreation and Parks has released the 2012 Spring Community Recreation Program Guide. You may access the Program Guide online atccrecpark.org. Remember, some classes have limited registrations and all programs are filled on a first come, first served basis so don’t wait! Register today!

Aquatics, Arts & Crafts, Boating, Bus trips, Cooking, Health & Wellness, Home & Garden programs available for all ages!

Program Guides will also be available at all branches of the Carroll County Public Library, Carroll County Senior and Community Centers, Bear Branch and Piney Run Nature Centers, the Carroll County Farm Museum, and the Carroll County Office Building.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2012 - 2013 school year Carroll County, Maryland

Kindergarten Registration for the 2012 - 2013 school year Carroll County, Maryland will be held the week of March 26-30, 2012 at the elementary school in your attendance area. Enrollment in kindergarten is mandatory for children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2012.

Parents will need to present the following at the time of registration:

1. their child's birth certificate or other legal document to verify their child's legal name and birth date

2. verification of residence such as a current utility bill (Ex: gas, electric, water) or a current lease agreement that includes the service address with house number, and street name

3. specific address from which the child will be transported to school and the specific address to which the child will be transported after school.

Immunization records must be completed and returned to the school prior to the start of the school year.

North Carroll Public Library with Claire & Raven ~ Tuesday Treasure

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of enjoying a few of my favorite things, family, friends and books! I took Claire and her friend Raven to the North Carroll Public Library to study. It’s finals week in high school and college. The girls, Claire & Raven, have been friends for years, this year they have classes together so studying together is a great idea.

One of my favorite things throughout Carroll County, Maryland are the barns. Peppered all over the county side you will find these essential structures. This one is located on Hampstead-Mexico Road in Hampstead on a working farm. In days gone by, barns were often the first structure built by families, and the most expensive.
