1. Funds are to be used for down payments and closing costs.
2. Purchaser must not have owned real estate in the last three years.
3. All eligible buyers must complete the Home Buyer Counseling classes.
4. The purchaser contributes a minimum of $500 toward the purchase of his home. The grant will then match it up to 5 times. To receive the full benefit of the $7,500 grant the purchaser must contribute $1,500, which can be used in the form of an earnest money deposit, appraisal, home inspection, etc.
Funds are available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis. The money will run out quickly. If you are sitting on the fence, now is the time to take advantage of the tax credit available thru the federal, state and local authorities as well as any grants offered.
