The E&R Department is pleased to present “Sunday Afternoon at the Movies.” They are shown in the auditorium of Leisure World Clubhouse II on Sundays.

The next screening is Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2 PM and the featured film is “Red” (2010, rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action violence and brief strong language; 1 hr. 51 mins., not closed-captioned). Free tickets, limit two per person, are required; they can be obtained from the E&R office in either Clubhouse I or II beginning at 8:30 am on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

After trading in his professional past as a black-ops CIA operative for a new identity, Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is basking in normality. But he is forced to return to old habits when an assassin puts a target on his back and goes after the woman (Mary-Louise Parker) he loves. Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich co-star as former members of Frank's team who reluctantly reassemble to save his life in this Golden Globe-nominated action-comedy.

The movies are for your enjoyment; there is no charge. Be sure to pick up your ticket(s) if you plan to attend. Please note that no one will be seated after 2 PM.

The Eric Byrd Trio Bring an Afternoon of Jazz to Leisure World

The Eric Byrd Trio are musicians whose vision is to glorify the age of traditional jazz while providing an energetic and modern approach to standards and original compositions at the same time. The Trio has performed internationally for over 10 years. They are former Kennedy Center/United States State Department Jazz Ambassadors, which provided them the opportunity to tour countries likeColombia,Bolivia,Chile,Peru,HondurasandTrinidad. Their international touring includes concertsEstonia,ItalyandScotland, at the Montreux Switzerland Jazz Festival, multiple tours of South America, and an appearance at a world music festival inDubaiin theUnited Arab Emirates.

The trio performs regularly at jazz venues in and around Baltimore andWashington,D.C., including at Blues Alley and theKennedyCenterfor Performing Arts. The Eric Byrd Trio has played at festivals throughout theUnited States, headlining the East Coast Jazz Festival, the ARTScape Festival in Baltimore and The Westminster Flower and Jazz Festival.

The Foundation of Leisure World and the E&R Department extend a warm welcome to the Eric Byrd Trio. They will perform on stage in Clubhouse II at 4:30 PM on Friday, Feb. 3. Tickets, $7 per person go on sale in both clubhouses at 8:30 am on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Leisure World of MD 2012 Annual Pool Pass and Locker Rentals are Now Available

The 2012 Annual indoor pool passes are now available for purchase in Clubhouse II.
Cost of the resident annual indoor pass is $135.
There is no charge for residents for the outdoor pool.

Annual locker rentals are $35.
Full locker rentals in the men's locker room are $65.
