Leisure World Maryland - The Foundation of Leisure World Upcoming Events 2009 - 2010

The Foundation of Leisure World of Maryland was formed in 1981 and tasked with enhancing the quality of life for Leisure World residents in the areas of culture, education and health.

The Foundation supports the Leisure World community in many ways including furnishing equipment such as pianos, exercise machines and audio-visual systems that are not included in the community budget; by providing seed money and guidance needed to form other organizations such as the Computer Center, the Center for Lifelong Learning, the Going-It-Alone-Club and the Retired Nurses Association.

The Foundation also sponsors performances by professional entertainers and educators so that the price of admission can be kept low and more residents can attend.

The least expensive is a one bedroom one bath home; on the market for $59,950. The most expensive is a three bedroom two baths apartment listed for $419,999. The File of Life packet enables Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel to obtain a quick and accurate medical history when a patient or family member is unable to offer one. The File of Life is a red, magnetic packet that contains vitally important medical information about you. The File of Life also provides an area to list contact information for your doctor, family members, insurance information and any other special circumstances that rescue personnel should know in caring for you. FREE File of Life packets are available upon request to all residents of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Silver Spring Md. Leisure World CO-OP Market Report October 2009

This market report is to cover the CO-OPs in the senior citizen community of Leisure World in Silver Spring Maryland 20906. At the time of this report (11/1/09) there are 31 Co-Ops on the market FOR SALE or FOR RENT in this community. The configurations of these units range from a studio apartment with 635 sq ft of living space to townhouse with 1600 sq ft. There are two on the market FOR RENT at this time and the other 29 are listed for sale.

FOR RENT

There is one one-bedroom CO-OP FOR RENT at this time, it a studio apartment listed at $900/month and it has been on the market for nearly four months (114 days) with the same Realtor. The other CO-OP for rent is a two-bedroom one bath model listed for $1000/month and has been on the market for nearly a month (28 days) at the time of this report.

At the time of this report there are no applications FOR RENT that have been accepted and lease not yet signed.

No CO-OP has been rented since October 1^st of 2009.

This 55+ Senior Community located in Montgomery County, MD offers a variety of homes styles within a 610 acre parcel secured by three manned gatehouses.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Entertainment and educational programs featuring outstanding performing artists and lectures are scheduled throughout the year. Holiday events, activities, and parties are also planned.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
The E&R Department assists in coordinating social, service and fraternal organizations. The community is noted for many organized groups. there are many opportunities for residents to volunteer time and assist within groups and organizations according to their interests.

NEW RESIDENTS
New residents in Leisure World receive a community handbook and organization contact list, which provides an introduction tot he community, its facilities, and its rich opportunities for pleasant living and personal development.
