Montgomery Mutual is the governing body for Cooperatives.
Leisure World of Maryland is a private, age-restricted community located in Montgomery County , MD.
The Community was started in September of 1966. The 610 acre parcel is fenced and entry is limited to residents and guests by using any of the three manned gatehouses located on Georgia Avenue, Norbeck Road and Connecticut Avenue.
There are approximately 8,500 people residing in the community which is sub-divided into 29 housing
associations which are referred to as associations.
The community amenities include an 18 hole golf course, two clubhouses (both indoor and outdoor swimming pools), tennis court, dining facilities, bus transportation (both within the community and to outside shopping centers), a medical center and pharmacy, and complete maintenance services.
Leisure World also publishes it's own community newspaper, Leisure World News . . . published the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The newspaper contains a calendar of events along with reports from the general manager, articles and advertisements relating to the Leisure World community as well as its residents.
Montgomery Mutual OPERATIONS:
Scheduled Roof Replacement -- 2011 is the 3rd year of roof replacement in Montgomery Mutual. The plan is to replace the roofs of all 93 buildings.
Exterior Repair/Paint -- Montgomery Mutual will begin work in the spring of 2011 to complete exterior repairs and painting of all buildings in the Mutual.
Concrete/Asphalt -- In spring of 2011, Montgomery Mutual will repair/replace designated areas related to concrete patios, sidewalks, curbing and atrium's.
Fence and shed Replacement -- The final phase of fence and shed replacement will occur in 2011.
Drainage -- Drainage work will begin in the spring/summer of 2011.
Landscaping -- The Landscaping Committee has a 3 year revitalization plan for all areas throughout the Mutual.
Interior/Exterior Inspections -- Management will continue to conduct detailed building and unit inspections in 2011. These inspections identify required maintenance on the exterior and interior common areas of each building.
