What can I do to HELP PREVENT A FLOODED BASEMENT IN ST MARY'S MARYLAND?

After the long dry summer in St Mary's Maryland we finally had rain, rain and more rain!! I have a walk out basement but I noticed the water building up on the patio.

I hope it's not too late to share two simple things you can do to HELP PREVENT A FLOODED BASEMENT:

Take the time, right now, to make sure that the drain in your basement areaway is free from leaves and debris.

We've had so much rain in the last few days that a few leaves over the drain could block the rains exit.

Now make sure that your sump pump is turned on and running properly.

These are great things to share with your friends and neighbors too.

It's best to be prepared.
