Baltimore County: The Hawthorne Report: Affordable Living

Maryland, especially Baltimore County, has been experiencing excellent job growth.

With this growth comes a need for people to find a nice place to call their home and not all of these people have the means nor the desire to spend too much money on that home.

This is where Middle River on Baltimore County's east side enters the picture. In particular, is the community of Hawthorne.

Hawthorne is located on a peninsula at the top of Middle River. It is very accessible with the Marc Commuter Train Depot just up the street, I-95 just a few minutes away, and Eastern Boulevard immediately available to take commuters straight into the heart of Baltimore City.

The public schools are part of the top ranked educational system in the entire nation.

Shopping and restaurants are all up and down the boulevard and White Marsh Mall is just about 10 minutes away.

The majority of the homes are town houses, but remember it is a peninsula, so there are a few nice waterfront properties.

Of course, even those without a waterfront home can enjoy the water at either Kensington Point Park or Midthorn Park.

The homes range in price from just above $100,000 to just under $175,000.
