You are invited to the Komen Boardwalkathon in North Beach and Chesapeake Beach MD Saturday AM Sept 18, 2010

Cheryl Ritchie, Southern Maryland Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Huntingtown, MD

RE/MAX 100 and Friends invite you to join us for the Fifth Annual Komen Boardwalkathon in North Beach and Chesapeake Beach MD on Saturday Morning Sept 18, 2010 from 7:30 to 11:00 AM. The entry fee is $25.00 and all proceeds are donated to Komen. We start at the North Beach Fire Department and head toward the North Beach Boardwalk first. It's always a pretty day on the Chesapeake Bay but this time in the Fall is fun for all! Then we swing around that Boardwalk, round the corner near Sweet Sue's and head back. We have water in coolers along the way. The beach and views and charity event always makes this a fun walk to do!

After we return to the North Beach Fire Department, we walk the sidewalks past Rod n Reel and swing up some back roads to pick up the Chesapeake Beach Boardwalk. We do that loop and then if you really want to know the scoop, a bunch of us hit the deck at Trader's and order up big country breakfasts outdoors on the last leg of the walk.

Bring your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family to join us on this yearly event. You'll want to come back! You can make donations at RE/MAX 100 10425 Southern Maryland Blvd. Dunkirk MD 20754 OR lace up your Sneakers and join us. We'd love to have you come this year!

Buying a Vacation Cottage in North Beach, Maryland

Phyllis Minik, Property Management: Real Estate Agent in Saint Leonard, MD

Buying a Vacation Cottage in North Beach, Maryland

North Beach, Maryland was platted in 1900. Originally settled by part-time residents from nearby Washington and Baltimore, North Beach provided an ideal site for vacation cottages. When the Bay bridge opened in 1955 bringing easier access to the Atlantic Ocean's resorts, demand for the vacation cottages on the western shore dissipated. Since then North Beach has come back as a great place to live and own a vacation home. It is close to DC and you don't have the traffic from the Bay Bridge making it a stress free getaway.

North Beach is a seven-block waterfront community with a public fishing pier and a half-mile-long boardwalk with a bike path. There are shops and restaurants you can walk to from many of the vacation cottages in North Beach.

North Beach also has townhomes and condos for sale. SOUTHWINDS condos are waterfront and start at $289,000. They were built in 2005. The condos overlook the boardwalk, fishing pier and beach making them a great alternative to a vacation cottage in North Beach. Below is a photo of the San Francisco By The Bay townhomes. The townhomes are not waterfront but they offer more room and garages.

Vacation cottages in North Beach start at $124,900 for a foreclosure making it a good place to invest. You can see foreclosures in the area at my website www.SmdBeach.com Currently there are 2 waterfront vacation homes in North Beach for sale. One is $499,000 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage built in 1940. The other is remodeled home listed at $665,000 for a 4 bedroom 3 and a half bath home built in 1930.

To view all vacation cottages for sale in North beach visit my website at www.SouthernMarylandVacation.com and if you are interested in the condos and townhomes you can visit www.SouthernMarylandCondo.com.
