Ridge Firehouse Christmas Tree Lighting tonight Friday, Dec 3, 2010 from 6:30-9:30pm at the Ridge Vol Fire Dept in Ridge, MD....there will be music (some songs sung by students from local schools), face painting, crafts, cookies, gifts for the kids, raffles...and OF COURSE Santa will be arriving in true Ridge style via a firetruck straight from the north pole...!!) Please bring a non-perishable can food item for the local food pantry...lets help as many as we can this holiday season......!!)

I love the carnival, so I thought i would share the Ridge Maryland Volunteer Fire Department Carnival is this weekend at the Ridge Maryland Fire department Fairground.

Lots of fun, bingo, games, rides, bracelets 15.00 to ride all night...family packs avail too.....come enjoy crab cakes (fresh and homemade), fries, burgers, funnel cakes, carnival pizza and of course soda and beer.....nightly bike drawings..nightly prizes each night....

Well, since I have been unable to log onto activerain for such a LONG time, I thought it would be appropriate to write a little something about the most important goings on in my life right now. St. Michaels School in Ridge Maryland is having their annual AUCTION and Yard Sale Starting Friday June 11th at 5:30p.m. There is sooo much work that goes into the auction. We have worked for weeks on planning and organizing the largest fundraiser the school has every year. Some of the items that will be auctioned:1994 29 foot RV, Sailboat cruises, fishing trips. I've attached a copy of the Preview list for everyones information.It really is going to be a great time! Well, the intensive fundraising efforts have paid off for St. Michael's School in Ridge Maryland! On October 15, 2009 The Archdiocese of Washington informed the little school that without $575,000 by January they would not be open the next school Year! With increased fundraising and AMAZING support from a little rural neighborhood, this local staple to the community has raised over $600,000! The families of this School and the Community have pitched in and became proactive in fundraising into next year and years to come with their "thanks-a-million" campaign. This is probbaly one of the most unbelievable Schools, and community that I have ever encountered. It truly is a blessing to be a part of such an incredible School.
