Buying a Vacation Home in Long Beach, St Leonard, Maryland

I feel lucky to live in Long Beach in St Leonard, MD. The community has a lot to offer including beach access, a marina, and a town center. It takes less than an hour to get to Long Beach from Washington DC which makes it a great place to buy a vacation home if you work in the DC area.

The community started in 1932 with many people purchasing vacation homes in Long Beach, St Leonard Maryland because it was advertised to be only an hour and 15 minutes away from DC back then. As a result there are many old homes mixed in with the new ones.

Because Long Beach is hilly many homes have views of the Chesapeake Bay and are within waling distance to the beach. I like the big beach next to the marina the best. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. I spend my lunch breaks walking on the beach every day in the summer. The photos below show the beach and the neighborhood.

Flag Harbor Marina is a great place to keep your boat. It offers deep water and easy access to the Chesapeake Bay. We keep our boat there because it is so convenient. If you like fishing it offers quick access to all of the best fishing spots. It is also great for sailboats. There are restrooms and a swimming pool at the marina.

One advantage to buying a vacation home in Long Beach is that you can buy a cottage with access to the beach and marina with a view for a lot less then you would have to pay for a waterfront home. You can view homes in the Long Beach St Leonard area with access and views for under $280,000 at the website www.homesunder280.com
