Governor Paterson is officially proclaiming October 10-18, 2009 1ST New York Week for the Animals!
A very special loving thanks to New York Governor David Paterson!
The 1st New York Week for the Animals kicks off on Saturday, October 10th and will conclude on October 18, 2009. Animal World USA, who is presenting the 1st New York Week for the Animals as part of the AWUSA Weeks for the Animals campaign, is honored to be working with the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals. Throughout the week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting wonderful animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens all across New York will be joining in -planning activities to celebrate and help animals.
Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter low cost events, shelter awareness days, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, comedy shows, quilts for shelter animal kennels, walks for the farm animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and nursing homes.
Also to be included are a salute to our K9 military and police dogs, feral cat initiatives, animal law events, special educational programs at the zoos and sanctuaries, food donation drives, art for the animals, free vaccination clinics, blessings for the animals, and full-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals!
