Northern Michigan is the home to the largest free-ranging elk herd east of the Mississippi River. These very large and magnificent creatures roam the woodlands from roughly I-75 on the west to Alpena County on the east and to the north of Gaylord. While Atlanta in Montmorency County, located on M-32, claims the title of Elk Capital of Michigan, some of the best viewing can be found very accessible in Vanderbilt, right on I-75 north of Gaylord. The Pigeon River Country State Forest lies to the east of Vanderbilt and directions to viewing areas can be attained locally. For equestrians, the Forest also offers some tremendous trails and campsites for extended rides.

Gaylord is gearing up for what has become one of the nation's premier Christian music events, the Big Ticket Festival. Held at the Otsego County Fairgrounds, the Big Ticket Festival features several stages with continuous musical entertainment from nationally acclaimed Christian performers. Festival goers come from across the nation and Canada. Rooms are becoming scarce but campgrounds are also available with a shuttle bus system. Gaylord is a great place to visit even without such an event. The family-friendly event runs from Thursday, June 24 - 27. Additional info: http://www.bigticketfestival.com/ or 989-731-2808.

Gaylord is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 3,681. It is the county seat of Otsego County[3]. Gaylord styles itself as an "Alpine Village" and the city center features many buildings with Tyrolean traverse style motifs. Receiving abundant snowfall and experiencing mild summer temperatures, for many years the area around Gaylord has become known for its many skiing and golf resorts, one of the largest such concentrations in the Midwest. Gaylord features an annual event in July known as the Alpenfest. Participants are encouraged to dress in traditional Swiss stylings.
Gaylord is also seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gaylord; it is by far the smallest settlement serving as the location of an active Roman Catholic cathedral in the United States.
Gaylord has two high schools: Gaylord High School, which is one of the largest high schools in Northern Michigan and competes in the Big North Conference along with the five other large high schools in that area of the state. Its 2007 enrollment of 1,076 pupils places it in Class A (large schools) of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. St. Mary Cathedral School is a Pre K-12 school which, despite its small size, has a successful athletic tradition. It is the only private school in the nine-member Ski Valley League and its 2007 high school enrollment of 110 places it in MHSAA's Class D.
Gaylord has a sister city: Pontresina, Switzerland.
Located in the exact center of Northern Michigan on the 45th parallel, Gaylord is unique because of its stunning surroundings, up north ambience and easy commuting access.
Well known as a Recreation seekers paradise, you will want to experience the newly improved Rails-to-Trails trail which goes from Gaylord to Mackinaw City. Pigeon River Country State Forest has about any outdoor experience imaginable.
Gaylord averages more than 180 inches of fresh snow each year, providing a haven for snowmobilers, Nordic and downhill skiers. One of Gaylord’s prime features is the area’s 21 championship caliber golf courses.

This post is intended to be totally random and nigh idiotic. That's because I want to know what kind of success other yahtzee masters have had. We're not talking about the online computer version, I mean straight out of the box version with the score card.
I remember my greatest Yahtzee game ever, where I tallied 7 yahtzees in one game. I know that sounds like a 10 gallon tall tale straight out of west Texas, and I wouldn't have believed it myself had I not been there to roll the dice myself. But I don't think time has romanticized my number. I just have a hard time believing I didn't frame the scorecard for that round.
Maybe this has some real estate application, like, how to score 7 deals by rolling the dice...or getting in the zone can help you make 7 figures...But if not...nonetheless it shows that this realtor, on any given day, can be a force to be reckoned with in the world of Yahtzee.
And my goal is to ascend to the plateau of Yahtzee success: being in a rap video where it cuts to me rolling a Yahtzee and saying:
That's how we roll!
PS ~ don't forget, I was 3 time middle school ping pong champion too. Top that. LOL!

With the Olympics in full swing and the 4-year fever which accompanies it, many are tempted to get out in the snow and play. A true Olympic experience can be found in Gaylord, Michigan where the Otsego Club developed a halfpipe to the exact specs of the halfpipe in Vancouver. During the month or so prior to the games, many foreign teams as well as some of the American team members actually trained at the Otsego Club and enjoyed both the facilities and the local hospitality. Gaylord boasts the Otsego Club and Treetops Resort with Boyne Mountain within a half hour as is Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire. So if you want to grap the Olympic experience, it may be no farther than Gaylord.
