Huff Lake waterfront homes (Highland, Michigan). There are about 5-7 homes on the lake. I would estimate the home sizes to range from 1500 to about 2500 square feet. There is one Huff Lake property that is about 5 acres in size. Huff Lake home styles are colonial and ranch homes.
Huff Lake is a 10-15 acre lake that is private. I noticed one pontoon on the lake. It is a good lake for canoes and paddle boats. It's not a big lake. Small enough to swim across. The children that live on the lake go to Huron Valley Schools.
Huff Lake is located in Highland Township Oakland County MI. It is north of M59, west of Harvey Lake Rd, east of Milford Rd, south of White Lake Rd.

If you have recently left a job you may have ended up with a payout of your retirement money that had been growing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other stock market investments in your retirement account. Do you know what that means? You are about to have the federal government take some of that money away.
First, there will be an automatic 20% withholding to pay federal taxes (not to mention any possible state taxes). On top of that, if you are not 59 ½ years old there will be an additional 10% taken away as an early withdrawal penalty against you. Also keep in mind as soon as you cash that check, you have added it to your income. It could move you into a higher tax bracket meaning even more of your money will be collected by the government.
But, it doesn't have to be that way. If you are wise with this money and don't spend it, you can let it continue to grow for you without losing any of it. Instead of spending that money, you need to roll it into a new retirement account for yourself. Rules differ by state and policy for how to do this but many times you can roll your investment from the retirement plan at the company you are leaving to a new retirement plan (either 401K or Roth IRA) without being penalized.
Make sure you know how this works because there is usually a set time frame you must complete this in order to be free of any penalties. If you are going to put the money into an IRA, you are going to likely be making the decision of where it is going. That means you need to know which investments are the wise ones to make.
The first thing you need to do is select a market to invest in. Since you want to make sure this money will be around when you get to retirement age, you may not want to choose high-risk categories. Instead you should look for a more stable and grounded market like real estate.
While real estate mutual funds and REITs have great potential for positive returns, they are also more stable than many other markets as they are based on something that will not disappear, property. While real estate can fluctuate in value, it will always come back around.
When it comes time to find the best real estate mutual fund or REIT for your retirement investing dollars, you should go to a site that specializes in this market. REITBuyer.com is just such a site. They are the first and only online brokerage that specializes in REITs and real estate mutual funds. In addition to being able to do all the research you need to know what is wise to buy, they are also the place to make your purchase and then monitor your portfolio and watch your money continue to grow.

When you are putting your home through the paces day in and day out, do you ever think about the impact you are having on the appliances in your home? Let's look at your clothes dryer. It is willing to work for you at any hour and generally does this without complaint. Likely the only time you really notice the things it does for you is when it breaks. But, if you are willing to take a little time to properly maintain it, you will be able to keep it humming along with no complaint a lot longer.
The Lint Trap
This seems like common sense, but you would be amazed how many people don't take care of the lint trap. This is the long screen that you can pull out of your dryer to remove the lint and dust that has been building up as the dryer dries your clothes. This should be cleaned before you start each and every load. It's easy to think 'what damage will a few loads do?" but the answer could be that it will cause problems you will have to pay big money to fix later. If too much lint accumulates in the screen it lower the efficiency of your dryer, and some of that lint will come loose and get clogged in other parts of the dryer vent system. Fabric softener sheets leave a residue on the lint screen, restricting air flow. This needs to be cleaned with soapy water every few months.
The Vent and Ducts
From the back of your dryer to the outside of your house is the dryer vent ducts and a vent outside where all the hot air coming out of your machine, as well as some of the lint, is sent out of your home. It is important that there are no clogs anywhere in this line or they could begin to muck up the whole system. You should have your vents and ducts checked out at least once a year by a professional. If you use the dryer a lot, you may want to do it twice.
Clothes dryers are by their nature very sturdy and hard working machines. But, even the best working machine can only do so much. With proper care and maintenance, you will be able to keep your clothes dryer working like a well-oiled machine for years to come.
