Another "to do for you" is the Wheatland Traditional Arts Weekend. This is an annual event held over the Memorial Day weekend at the Wheatland Festival grounds near Remus, Michigan. There are over 80 workshops in traditional forms of dance, music, crafts, vocal, and instrument instruction on site. Free primitive camping for participants. The Traditional Arts Weekend has become a very popular Wheatland event for those seeking more personal instruction. A silent auction is also held during the weekend and food is available to buy on site. You can register for any of the workshops by calling (989) 967-8879 or you might try their website: Wheatland Traditional Arts Weekend
I can't remember hearing anyone not having fun when attending the Dance Camp. I would recommend registering early as it gets pretty busy closer to Showtime. This year is the year to go and I will see you there.

So last weekend was the annual Fox family getaway, every year all the Aunts, Uncles, Cousins get together at someone's cottage to enjoy each other's company. We had 33 people show up and 10 that were unable to attend for various reasons, that actually is a below average turnout. This year we were at Martiny Lake, which is located between Remus and Barryton. It was a great time and minus some hellacious rains Saturday afternoon (which stopped a lot of the water activities), and a foot injury to myself, I wouldn't have changed a thing! I have to say as I get older I enjoy the time spent with the extended family more and more. The time was filled with a scavenger hunt, cards, a bonfire, washer toss, a kayaking and good banter between all. Here's to next year and another great weekend! (with out injury of course)
Have a safe and prosperous week!
