Many homeowners are reluctant to call for dumpster service because they think it is just for commercial projects. Dumpster rental services are for anyone who has a lot of trash to dispose of. There are a few things a homeowner should know before ordering dumpster delivery.
Dumpster rentals are essential for homeowners who are doing large home renovation, landscaping or garage clean-out projects. The rubbish will have to go somewhere. A dumpster rental offers the convenience of being able to get rid of all the trash at once, rather than trying to bag it up and put out just the limit for your regular weekly pickup. At this rate, depending on the amount you have to get rid of, this could take weeks, while the trash lingers in piles, waiting to be hauled away.
A good dumpster rental company will accommodate the average homeowner, explaining the options to those who may not be familiar with the terminology. Roll-off containers are rented in standard cubic yard sizes. The bigger the job, the larger dumpster you will want to rent.
Be sure to choose the right size container for the job; you will typically want a container that is one size larger than you think you will need. Carpet, scrap wood, drywall, yard waste and rubbish that have accumulated over the years will take up a lot of space. Concrete, rock and dirt will be heavy and should only fill the container about quarter or half full. Your rental company will be able to advise you on this issue.
Different volume sizes come in different dimensions. Height is an important thing to consider when lifting heavy materials over the side; you might ask if you can get a lower container if you're disposing of heavy items. Following is a description of typical dumpsters and roll-off containers:
10 Cubic Yard Container: 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and 4 feet high is a 10 yarder. It would be good for a small job, like tearing out a small bathroom.
20 Cubic Yard Container: 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, 41/2 feet high. This is usually the minimum size container for a large job; it will accommodate the rubbish from a small bathroom without overfilling or packing the dumpster.
30 Cubic Yard Container: This is an ideal size; it fits in front of most houses and accommodates carpet rolls, drywall debris and scrap wood without too much trouble. It's also good for disposing of concrete or rock.
40 Cubic Yard Container: This is the size for very large demolition and renovation jobs. It's 12 feet long, 8 feet wide and eight feet high and will serve most needs.
Decide on the size container that is right for your job, then plan where it will be placed for filling. Remember, you cannot move it once you've started filling it. Plan where you will be parking, whether or not you need vehicle access to and from the garage and consider how far you want to walk the rubbish before throwing it into the dumpster. Be sure the way is clear for the container to be delivered. If you will be placing the dumpster on the street, be sure to check with the city or township for codes and light requirements. The dumpster service company should be able to supply adequate lighting; a local company will most likely be familiar with the rules and regulations.
Don't forget to be sure the way is clear when it come time for the dumpster or roll-off container to be picked up. If the driver cannot get to it, he may charge extra for his time and trouble making another trip to pick it up. You may be delayed in having it hauled away and end up paying for an additional day.

My current passion is working with seniors to help them improve their financial situation and change the way they see their retirement. There has to be more to life than working so you can pay your bills, have children, put them through college, so they can move out and pay their bills and have kids.....Did we forget something here? What about an enjoyable, yet restful retirement?
A reverse mortgage allows a senior, age 62 and over, to use the equity in their home to live a more enjoyable life of financial security, without having to make mortgage payments. Here are some of the common questions people ask me when they come in to discuss reverse mortgages:
Q: What happens to my house when I pass away?
A: If your spouse is also listed on the title to your home, he/she will be able to continue residing in the home and receiving the benefits of the reverse mortgage. If you do not have a surviving spouse, all equity remaining in the home will pass to your heirs. Your heirs can choose to sell the house or keep the home and apply for a traditional mortgage to finance the outstanding balance. In that situation, the lender will work with your heirs to help them decide how to proceed.
Q: Will I continue to own my home?
A: Yes. You still own your home since you retain the title. Financial Freedom Senior Funding Corporation can set aside proceeds from your reverse mortgage to ensure that property taxes and homeowner's insurance a repaid, should you choose that option. We can even help you set aside cash for future home repairs. Similar to most mortgages, as long as you continue to live in your home, keep up repairs, pay property taxes and maintain homeowner's insurance, you can stay in your home as long as you choose.
Q: Do I need to make any ongoing payments?
A: No. Unlike traditional mortgages or home equity lines of credit, you do not need to make any ongoing payments.
Q: Are there any out-of-pocket expenses associated with applying for a reverse mortgage?
A: No. All closing costs can be financed with the proceeds from the reverse mortgage.
Q: Are there any income requirements?
A: No, unlike a home equity line of credit, there are no income requirements.
Q: Do I lose any of my federal benefits by selecting a reverse mortgage?
A: Social Security and Medicare benefits are not affected. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid are not affected either, as long as all monthly advances are fully spent each month. Financial Freedom Senior Funding Corporation is happy to assist you in selecting the plan that will work best for you.
Q: Can I pay back the equity I've borrowed?
A: Yes. At any time you choose to increase the equity in your home, you can do so by paying all or a portion of your reverse mortgage.

May the death of a beautiful person, bring many good things to those who are left behind.
We will miss you Maria, and look for the day when we join you in that place in the sky.

Maria Djelaj said, "I'm afraid he is going to kill me." On her request for a personal protection order March 10. Nine days later, she was dead, shot and killed by the man she feared -- her husband.
Djerdj Djelaj, 46, gunned down his wife then turned the gun on himself and were found dead in a parking lot at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Shelby Township Police Detective Terry Hogan said. Before he did, police said, he called the couple's two adult children and said good-bye. The young adults -- one turned 18 recently -- found their parents' bodies and called 911.
"Sadly, I'm not surprised," said Roberta Sarkis, the Mt. Clemens lawyer who was representing Maria Djelaj in her divorce. Sarkis appeared in court March 10 with Maria Djelaj, 38, and her father, Kola Gjolaj. Both filed for protection orders after the hearing, on Sarkis' advice. In the request, Maria Djelaj wrote of a Sept. 16 incident that resulted in a domestic violence charge against her husband of 21 years, but a district judge acquitted him in December. She also said that on March 4, her husband "came straight in my face and said I will break every bone in your body," she wrote in the petition. And she said that on June 30, he beat her so severely she needed stitches in her head. "Over the years, he has threatened me and my children," she wrote. The protection order requests were denied the next day by Circuit Judge Antonio Viviano, who was set to handle the couple's divorce trial in May."
