The long and "wine-ding" road-- Center Road in Old Mission Peninsula

With apologies to the Beatles for my bad pun, M-37 (aka Center Road) on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, is becoming known as "Wine Road."  With 7 wineries either on Center Road, or easily accessed by this two lane road that traverses the west coast of East Grand Traverse Bay, oenophiles and foodies are making this a well-travelled road.  From Black Star Farms at the base of the peninsula to Two Lads Winery near the tip, these Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula (WOMP) are creating world-class high quality wines.  My personal favorite is Brys Estates Vineyard and Winery, owned by Eileen and Walter Brys, with wines created by master vinter Coenraad Stassen.

Old Mission Pensinsula is a rather narrow and long strip of land that divides Grand Traverse Bay into East Bay and West Bay.  Much smaller in size than the Leelanau Pensinsula, it's rocky coastline and rolling hills offer incredible views of the water and the countryside.  It is THE crown jewel of northwestern Michigan real estate, and land is at a premium.  The area features many magnificent homes, and many with incredible water views.  With its seven (soon to be 8) wineries, several outstanding restaurants, and beautiful scenery, it's in obvious demand.  If you'd like to learn more about homes in this area, please visit my website, where you can search the entire MLS.
