Tomorrow--Saturday Jan.15,2011--at the Wayne City, Wayne Co Salvation Army Thrift Store on US -12 / Michigan Ave.
a wonderful Good-Bye is being offered;
...Rich Rodriguez--the former University of Michigan football coach is proving that he IS a "Michigan Man";
...not always accepted as Head coach due to not being a Michigan Man, & other complaints from fans;
...Rick Rodriguez has stepped up to the proverbial 'plate' ;
Using a GPS, he located the closest Salvation Army Store to whom he wanted to donate his U.of MI gear;
To listen to Major John Aren's words, Rich Rodriguez is a very special person.
On the local news TV tonight, Maj. Aren said that Mr Rodriguez used GPS to find the Wayne Store--but '...I know that he was sent here to us by God--the real G --PS System.'
Rich Rodriguez is not the first, nor will he be the last, coach to be fired from a Michigan Team, but he is quite special.
When addressing the 435 U. of Michigan items donated, the Major stated "This is absolutely a unique experience for me." ...."This is the first time I've ever seen of this."
On the news footage, some of the 435 items were displayed: some worn, some new, many signed Rodriguez.
Saturday, the Wayne City, Wayne Co. Salvation Army thrift Store is setting up two large heated tents in the lot.
They are holding a Live Auction of the items, with the proceeds going to Charitable works of the Army.
Apparently when hearing about this, some out-of-state calls have come in wanting to place a bid over the phone.
This is not the method being used--rather this will be an in-person auction of:
caps,[ many signed as seen on TV], shirts, jackets, along with accessories as gloves, & hand towel. Where applicable, sizes range from S to 2XL
What a gracious, neat way to say Good-Bye to the state of Michigan
Some people will be owners of U. of MI. gear after tomorrow at the same time will be helping in the Charitable works of the Salvation Army--City of Wayne--Wayne County.

IN ACTIVE RAIN -vs- INACTIVE RAIN.....there is a difference and I am living proof. I am investor in Wayne, Michigan, a western suburb of Detroit. A fellow investor suggested that I join this on-line network, Active Rain, for Real Estate agents and investors. So I checked it out. I signed up. I read some blogs and I even posted a blog. At the time, I didn't understand blogging and how it would help me with my real estate investing.
That was August of 2008. For the next year I didn't visit the site and I didn't see any benefit from my being in Active Rain. So in September of 2009 I decided to check it out again. I looked at my 1,500 points versus other people with 100,000-300,000 points. What was I doing wrong? I read some more blogs. I started learning from other peoples tips and their links to other valuable information. I started posting some comments. I updated my profile and my picture.
I started to see some positive results coming from my actions.
Then it hit me. I am not IN ACTIVE RAIN, I am INACTIVE RAIN. I wasn't reaping any benefits out of Active Rain because I wasn't putting anything into it. That was when I decided to be more active. I dedicated myself to signing in every day, reading some blogs and commenting on at least twenty blogs a week. The points started adding up. The creative juices started to flow. I thought, "I can do this." So I wrote another blog. Then I got a few comments on my old blog and on my new blog. It's finally starting to make sense to me. People in the rain don't know I'm here if I don't speak up and connect with them.
Then one day, my phone rang. I didn't recognize the number or the area code. Could this be a tele-marketer? I politely answered. The woman on the other end introduced herself.
"Hi, my name is Pamela St. Peter and I am calling from North Carolina". She was calling me about my recent blog. WOW. Calling me. I felt special. She said she was impressed with what I had said and how I had said it but felt that my blog needed more "eye candy" and would I mind if she gave me some tips. Now I could have gotten defensive and thought she was being a little bit forward. But I recognized a genuine effort to offer me some positive feed back. We spoke briefly and agreed that I would call her back later in the day.
When I called back, Pamela was very pleasant and a joy to talk to. She and I logged onto Active Rain simultaneously. She guided me through the proper steps to using the blog tools. She showed me the difference between WYSIWYG and HTML and how to create links inside my blog. Pamela walked me through inserting a photo and adjusting and aligning the appearance of my photo for better placement inside my blog. She recommended some other sites to use to enhance my blogs. We spoke for FORTY FIVE minutes.
I came away from that phone call with a better understanding of what I was doing and how to do it. I was very grateful for the advice. Pamela is a perfect example of what Active Rain is all about. People helping each other. Thanks to Pamela, I am learning but I still have a lot to learn.
Now I felt like I was IN ACTIVE RAIN instead of INACTIVE RAIN.
